interesting song, very creative. i'd like to hear you spend more time on the performances and mix, the opening sound great but later parts seem a bit rushed?
Stricken (Cover) by JDVLZ 27 days ago
the guitar backing is ok, drums a bit rough, half the vocal sounds fine to me and the other half sounds off, tho it's all too loud and could use some production variety. like the verse is ok, chorus part's weird and off tune and back and forth. i haven't heard the original song. i think you should keep singing. you are not singing the choruses loud enough and you want to record multiple takes of the chorus to make effected quieter backing vocals for variety and harmonies as the song progresses. peace

Dude either my broswers are trippin or you've done something on some of these files that is breaking the icomp player. This tune and Relapse won't play on the webpage for me, but download ok so it may be a Bitrate thing in your export settings? Other tracks like Debut play fine. If this one plays OK for you on the page then it must just be my pc.

Turning Away (Vocals open collab) by SierraRace 1 month ago
It may just be me, but it sounds like the mic is getting maxed out on the loudest parts - turning down the Input Gain or Input Level in your Sound control panel might make it sound cleaner at those spots? The one in Apple Menu > Preferences, I think...

The Real Bass Man (iComp Live Sessions) by musika 5 months ago
The bass man should probably pack it in, or at least help Jon with those refridgerators. Meanwhile it is good that you included the lyrics and chords, it would be great if more of us remembered those details more often. I very much enjoy these front row seats at your performances, which only get better and better.

The Title Theme [Take 1] by DJ_Siatt 5 months ago
i'm gonna say, it's a little generic. so,

work in a voice sample perhaps with the name of the game - it will help, i think. traditionally, either an Announcer (usually male) literally saying it in a cool voice with EQ fx and reverb/delay, or some melodic harmonies (usually female) with the words or something relating to the theme, repeated a few times like chorus sections to match the chords you already have.

also think about adding one *unique* sound in just a few places throughout the song, to make it more hooky/memorable/attention-grabbing -- not a synth, a sample of something a little unusual from the real world, again to fit the game theme.

i'd like if you could mention the name or theme of the game in the description to give listeners more grounding, and link us to their page as soon as there's something to see.

this is good work, i just know you can take it further.

Change Your Mind by TessCrazy 6 months ago
yep this is a hit, great production choices (not sure about the autotune tho) - the change ups, fx, vocal layering etc are exactly what i was suggesting "did me wrong" is missing smiley there is space for one more thing in last 8-16 bars to make the ending more memorable.
peace
Did Me Wrong by TessCrazy 6 months ago
quirky melodic folk-pop, i think the production is reminscent of Portishead in the first half but doesn't really change or pick up from then on. i'd like to hear something new, whether instrument melody harmonies or effects, to make the bridge and ending section more attention-grabbing. great voice, study more on mixing if you're doing everything yourself.

vocal is low in the mix, could use more compression and/or a level raise, maybe some EQ. going back to v1 next for comparison & lyric comments.

i don't think a vocoder would be appropriate for this style of rap but you could always surprise me by proving otherwise. Ableton 8 def has a vocoder if you get the full version, and there may be free VSTs to do the same thing if you Google.
