Biography

Roots rockin’ songstress Reina G. Collins has been singing for her supper for twenty-plus years. Her voice has been described as ‘smooth and fiery at the same time – like top shelf tequila’ and ‘warm as a color like deeply polished wood.’

Reina grew up in sunny, salty Florida where she played in rock bands until changing direction toward jazz and Brazilian music in the late 80s. She crisscrossed the continent on solo road trips and landed in San Diego and then Los Angeles in the early 90s. Moving back to roots, rock and country music, she got to know the Rocky Mountain region while touring for a year with regional country rock band Way Out West.

Collins’ rambling led her to Teton Valley, Idaho, her home from 1996-2005. There she established Driggs’ first retail music shop, Big Hole Music. Those years were spent performing at music and art festivals, weddings, community and corporate events, ski resorts, fundraisers and many local watering holes.

Reina has recorded two albums and tracks from both have received national and international airplay. Her 2006 release, Even If I Fall, is a collaboration with local songwriter Rob Barteletti with acoustic blues guitarist Terry Robb (Yellow Dog Records) as producer.

Fall 2007 finds Reina recording her 3rd album at 8 Ball Studio with producer Rob Stroup at the helm. The project is on the fast track and is scheduled for a December release.
