![]() Sammy, You Crossover King! Good Grief, where did this come from? This is brilliant. I love it. You have really been pushing envelopes lately. I had no idea you could do cool pop songs. I've been so fixated on Dogman, Sursurro and Octophrenetic in my car that I never thought I'd hear you do something like this. The Outro just says to me, "Hey, I'm proud of my voice!" Incredible confidence. And it works. Your chord selections and progressions....Dynamite. Everything just fits. And as you once said about one of my tunes, "When you record a song simply and without pretention, and the melody still sticks in another person's head after they've heard it, you know you wrote a good one. " My sentiments exactly on this song. Again, Thanks Sammy. /Ricky. |

| Higher Ground (Cover) by seasky | 4 days ago |
| Yes, Yes, Yes, so much empathy in this piece. I really love when musicians just introduce and take over a piece making it theirs. Agree with the jazzy approach. This is unique and I like it a lot. Thanks. PS. You should team up with KPENSON, the King of Jazz on iComp. http://www.icompositions.com/artists/kpenson Again, Beautiful rendition of one of my favorite Stevie numbers. /Ricky. |

Would love to know who else at your work is downloading or listening. Flattered! Thanks Cindy for the feedback. As always Linda, I am always happy to hear that you like my renditions of your pieces. It is difficult to do at times, but you really make it easy. You sing in the key that I like to play in. Again, thank you. Little Hooligan, thank you for your comments also. I love the categorization. Carla, greatly appreciative of your comments. Thank you. /ricky. |

| Funky Heartbreaker Virtual Jam Session with Geechi by rickywaterman | 2 years ago |
| Thank you Zincshed. Comments greatly appreciated. I wanted to get away from 4/4 and safety with this one. Hopefully this can be taken in a direction that I want to go - a complete song, instead of a pastiche of vocal samplings. It's really an art piece more than a song. Again, thanks for listening. |

| Scaustrita, Thank you kindly for the feedback. Linda's voice is, as described by Ultravioleta, an additional instrument that just flows. Her voicings and intonations are incredible. I was actually shocked by the last part - that was pure soul music and it caught me offguard. The horns are all JB inspired. In the final mix, will definitely be seeking a horn player reminiscent of the master of Soul music himself. I can't get Maceo, but I think I might be able to beg FilmScorz or Bass2x .Thanks |

| Very nice ! I'm catching up on The Beatles History and Music again, from a Musician's standpoint, instead of a fan. And I love Glass Onion. Very good cover. I'm really happy that you've given this your own interpretation. I'm really tired of the note for note facsimile's - they get old. What you've done is brought Glass Onion into the 21st Century. Just like Love did. Your interpretation is wonderful. Thanks for sharing. /ricky. |

| Great playing....You know I was wondering how you got the overtones playing that high up on the fretboard, but I wasn't watching the video. The Capo really brings out a lot and frees you up to use your natural index, third and fourth fingers. Again, great playing I really enjoyed it. /rick |

| TRILOGIE DE LA VIE (The Trilogy of Life) by rickywaterman | 2 years ago |
| It's been a year since I did this piece and I haven't had the ability to listen to it again until tonight. It still brings back goosebumps. I remember tearing as I played the chords. I know that we must all move on from that day, but I do not want people to forget what happened and what we have to do to make sure that it doesn't happen again. I have decided that it would be best to never work on this piece again and to leave it and let it stand as the way in which I felt about it. The dissonance really reflected the way I was feeling that day. Thank you all so much for the comments above. They really meant a lot to both me and my family. /R. |

| Aaron, your words are priceless. Thank you so much. Obviously you are one of my major influences on iComp and in music. Thank you. LittleH, Raving, Elaine, thank you for your kind words and suggestions. This was a demo due to the fact that I cannot play guitar for the next 3-6 months. I am looking back at a lot of my midnight doodles and working with them. The rotating vocals were due to my singing on one channel at a time, the same lyrics for that spacial feel. Unfortunately, I did not have the luxury of having no one at home, thus I did the demo with the kids running around and "trying to keep quiet." It was almost vigilante recording. Hence the rough editing. This will be one of the first songs that I edit. Again, iCompers thank you all so much for the feedback. I am truly honored to get such incredible feedback, particularly from not only musicians, but vocalists. /ricky. |

| SHY by rickywaterman | 2 years ago |
| Thank you to everyone posting above. Your comments and suggestions are truly appreciated. I will implement many of them as soon as I can play guitar again. I am really shy about singing, because I haven't taken lessons and I have a very limited range. But having friends like all of you on iComp gives me the confidence to try different things. As Geo stated above, I am somewhat free to do a lot of other things that my guitar would usually have taken the place of. That includes working on production techniques etc. A small shout-out to AaronT, who in abstentia spoke to me about the vocal doubling technique. Thank you Aaron. Ponkey, the piece was taken from a midnight guitar and drum doodle so the form is a little unpolished. You can hear, as FV1 pointed out, my daughter putting down a glass during the production. One of these days, I have to let you guys listen to an outtake of this piece that sounds completely different, when my kids took over the song in a totally different direction. It's really funny. Again, thank you all for your comments and suggestions. /ricky. |
