Biography

A late-30's SoCal resident, I've been creating things for myself and people to enjoy ever since I can remember. From Lego spaceships to sketches of Supemran, home-made radio shows to school video projects - it's all led me to right here. Now a TV producer/writer/director and independent film composer/producer, I make the things I want to see & hear... and share.

I ended up teaching myself piano as a kid and acoustic guitar as an adult because I was never too interested in the more structured forms of learning (read: impatient), and to keep up with my older brother who always rocked out piano, guitars, drums, horns and vocals... more on that later (below).

Sure, I was in a couple of high school bands, played a few talent shows, jumped on stage once in a while at a bar or fundraiser or fraternity event... but always felt my strength was in recording. Didn't matter if it was a desktop cassette player (70's-80's) or a small Tascam 4-track (80's-90's), I've always obsessed over my own songs and collaborations, listening and analyzing to no end! Ego? Fantasy-fulfillment? You decide.

And then GarageBand happened. Now my adolescent ideas, twenty-something musings get the full production value I'd always imagined. Let's see how it pans out.

My influences are varied and endless (Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Counting Crows, Crowded House, The Beatles, Billy Joel, The Fray, Train, Jackson Browne, Toad The Wet Sprocket, New Order, The Cure, Phil Collins, Ben Folds, Howard Jones, The Killers, Squeeze, Matchbox 20, Sade and more...). I know I like a song if I hear it and think, "damn, wish I wrote that one." You know you've felt that too!

I make music because of my brother. He's always inspired me, influenced me, impressed me and involved me. Basically, when I write/record, it's his voice I hear singing the lyrics. Now distance and time cause major delays in our collaborations... and since I can't sing, I'll be reaching out to the community for some vocal assistance, if my bro isn't available.

Thanks for reading this much... time for some tunes.
