Biography

I started writing music the day I picked up my first guitar. I couldn't play any "real" songs, so I just messed around until I found something I thought was cool. Eventually, I learned songs from my favorite bands, but I never lost the desire to write. And like most teenage kids, I had plenty of drama to write about. I really tried hard those first years keeping everything really metaphorical and poetic. I didn't want to reveal the true meanings of my songs on the surface, I wanted people to wonder what I meant by the things I said.

When I was a junior in high school I started my first band called the Skepulations. We played at local clubs and high school parties. Despite our raw sound, people seemed to enjoy us and I often heard our songs being sung or hummed in the hallways. I put my heart and soul into that band, and I learned an immense amount about music from playing with them.

My next band started out as a small acoustic duo, but before I knew it we threw a bass and drummer in the mix, and traded in the acoustics for two electrics. We called ourselves South Hill. This band was definately more talented then the Skeps, but due to my busy life at the time, it was also more short lived. However, we did manage to snag first place in a battle of the bands competition.

Since South Hill, I've taken a few years off from live performances and focused more on the production side. It's been quite a struggle trying to figure out what gear to buy and how to produce quality sound. I've talked to countless people who have given me useless advice and recommended worthless gear.

Finally, I stumbled upon Apple computers and the Logic Studio software. This is by far the very best recording equipment I have ever used. I will admit that I am in no way perfect at using it, but my songs sound so much better then they used to. That being said, if you have any tips or feedback for me I am open and willing to listen.

Let me know what you think. Your comments are always welcome. Thanks for listening!

Also, you may notice that I don't comment on others songs very often... This is because I do not have regular access to a computer that has internet and speakers together... My studio computer does not have internet, and I post songs from work, where they don't have speakers... So I'm sorry about that.
