number one, i don't think i got, or somehow missed, the email of you posting this.
it's gotten to the point that i look forward to hearing you sing--particularly the harmonies. lyrics come in a close second. sardonic as guessed--and of course, that's what i count on.
So Very Far by sammydix 6 hours ago
@Bachthoven
...that is until that one last high harmony.
that's a doozy...haha!

@jibes
thanks man. tried the snippet thang.

@woofer3
well, i leaning more towards Fripp in this one. glad you listened, woof.

@C_Man
thans C. sometimes one can actually have fun alone if you're doing something you enjoy.

@Deebeesea
are you daring me? oh, Diane, it's on now...

@scaustrita
yep. poorly trying to imitate my favorite prog band. long live the King!

@zagneek

of the 21st Century.
now that was definitely completely different. would you believe i have some CDs with songs similar to this? very unstructured and right-brained muse in use. +++
Big Spender by RubyDubidoux 1 day ago
always secretly like this song. as far as the style, it's second only to "Fever." man i love that song. this version didn't disappoint one bit.
now i can never hear this again without visualizing Pharm's comment pic.
So Very Far by sammydix 1 day ago
@RubyDubidoux
thanks Elaine. i started jammin and just kept going. fortunately, you get the edited version.

@a1k3m1
Get Wild is my favorite after showering and before going out for the evening.
i'm still a little clumsy on bass, but i think i'm getting better and a touch more daring. that's partially due to you guys.
i checked out Eddie's website and he makes about the most "off-beat" synth songs i've heard. i had to get in touch with him after i wrote this and he came thru perfectly. think he uses Tal(?). very cool guy and easy as hell to work with.
Cry Baby Blues by pharmakeus 1 day ago
awesome tone on that guitar, but should i be surprised? she's just cryin'. i'm just smilin'.

@zarizarikun
hey zari! thanks for listening, but if you use a Japanese/English dictionary, please scratch out the phrase, "much enjoyed" haha!!!

@pharmakeus
had to let go of the Prince in me. not fun tho, just too high for my voice.

@OldShepster
i know a "shep" from my daw site. lives in Jolly ol' Eng. thanks for the visit, new shep.

even tho i understand via our communications, still a tease!
but an even better one this time. kudos to Pharm.

that's some gritty loudness! like the little percussion sound that pops in and strings are a nice touch too.

different sound, but that BH melody still shines thru as with the harmonies.
God Forbid and Don't Bother by brewchugger 5 days ago
after hearing this, i actually wondered why you two hadn't teamed up sooner. excellent match. fantastic bass line and the chorus sticks with you.

Real You (Radio Edit) by Axelbreeze 8 days ago
pretty wild and dynamic Axel. i really like your productions. Sierra indeed does have that Madonna sound to her voice. but yeah, it's pretty loud in the mix.
When I Close My Eyes by mfwmiles 8 days ago
Miles, leave it to me to be bold enough to say your songs are **irritatingly** short. that is, if they were mediocre, everyone could say their nicey nice stuff and move on. but your songs are generally so GOOD (that's with 100% sincerity for the bit that's there) that it's just a tease, then it's done. Do you write jingles or something on the side?
I personally say please write longer songs or *worse* ones to make the shortness tolerable.
I'm On My Way (from nowhere) by Vixen 8 days ago
yep, this does have that 60s feel, i thought of Mamas/Papas first when i heard it. got an "exciting" flow to it. with your vocal additions.

i get that same sense of motion. no time to be still when listening to this.
Open Your Eyes by Bachthoven 9 days ago
great vocal arrangement first off. goes good with that island feel.
O, Superman by pharmakeus 9 days ago
totally unexpected remake. expressive vocals makes this work...along with that sweet guitar that pops later. agreed that this is one of your very best. didn't miss those ha ha ha ha ha's at all.
Night cherry blossom [ SANPACHI ] by zarizarikun 10 days ago
i don't understand, ZuriZ, you say you're on guitar and your friends on bass and synth, but you have "only loops" that an error?
still as beautiful as ever. your now biggest fan.

sorry for missing a few and being a little late, but you--like some others-are just too prolific and fast for me to even try to keep up. but i make it when i can.
that said, i do love the music parts of this and how the arrangement is layered with textures. but i can listen to it only once since 'whispering' makes my flesh crawl--like nails on chalk board--weird huh? i'm prob the only human being alive that suffers from this "affliction." ha!

best quality for this rendition: fun as hell to listen to. you know i loved that harp.

man, LaF is THE go to dude it seems. the surprising part is that the quality holds up...or maybe not so surprising. cool melody you added, DB, gelled just nicely.

still lovin Chris's voice. cool big sound and recording. you guys are really good together.

Over This - Acoustic by Grades 17 days ago
man i really like Chris's voice. lots of power and feeling. he prob sounds great live. just as cool syncopated strumming on the guits. like those chords. do you three play locally?
Lets Make A Garden Inside our Hearts by mfwmiles 17 days ago
another self-contained nugget. how do you pack so much in so little? somehow this still sounds complete. Elaine nailed it, you've got a knack for catchy melodies. might send you a music only collab and just say "sing something."

Police Dog Blues by mikebms 19 days ago

song's got some really good dynamics and power. nice n open sound. my only nit is the lead vocal sounds a hair too loud...at least in the beginning. dunno, tho. could be just right.

now this is a cool change from your usual. very earthy and i love that trem guitar.
Dallas by mikebms 21 days ago
now that was one cool surprise. perfect vocals are nearly negligible when you listen to the 'whole.' loved it.
Got Walk by sammydix 21 days ago
@jibes
trying to stretch my vocal chops. my last band was hard rock/metal, so i'm used to screaming a lot. this is a complete turn-around-- stylistically and vocally--for me. not used to trying to sing with "style."

@mikebms
i usually play my own "normal" bass, but with the upright, i generally sing the part, then convert my voice to midi and drive it with Kontakt. sounds more natural has has more dynamics that way for me than if i played it on my keyboard. i'm pretty clumsy.
Got Walk by sammydix 21 days ago
@becwil
wasn't sure of the harmonies, but i think i made some weird chords. thanks so much Becca.

@RubyDubidoux
attitude she does have. thanks.

@theironsaul
thanks for the visit.

@zarizarikun
i tried to get another guitarist and organist, but i think it was a bad time for both (this was written just before the holiday season).

@Neumuzik
the rhythm guitar and organ (freeware azr3) is me .
the horns are Ueberschall--instruments played by real musicians, but you can 'bend' the audio to your liking. sorta like Melodyne for instruments. not quite midi, and not quite samples.
No Mas Dias y No Mas Noches by sammydix 21 days ago
hey neu. still discovering old stuff. at least you can see the progression (hopefully there's progress).
Steal Away by RubyDubidoux 21 days ago
those chords just make you ache. wonderful spacious mix on top. the sparse voice and guitars were a perfect choice. this is REALLY good.

Invention #1 - Does Anybody Want to Make it by mfwmiles 24 days ago
gatta say you do have a knack for melody. prob my fav aspect of your talent.

one nit:
tho i've never heard this with any consistency in your recordings, there is a bit of "hollowness" in this mix. hardly any bassiness coming thru for that solid "oomph" to ground everything, even for a non-crowded piece like this one. it sounds good, it sounds clear, ...but "lite."
Afternoon Nap (Live) by brewchugger 24 days ago
this is one of those songs that you simply ease into. nothing uninviting to keep you away. the fact that it's live...well, i wouldn't mind being in the audience that night.
Agony (Radio Edit) by Axelbreeze 24 days ago
man, you're sounding better every time i hear you after a break. really cool recording.

@Axelbreeze
thanks man.

@brewchugger
damn! i didn't even think of the harp! where were you when i needed you?

@woofer3
much thanks woof. i had an earlier version that was just bass and guitars, but it just bored me, so i added the little keys parts weeks later to spice it up a bit.

@Vixen
can't i read just ONE of your comments w/o a good laugh?

Back in Heaven by pharmakeus 24 days ago
agreed on that delivery. i think that's one of your strongest points. it's like you "feel" more than you just "do." if that makes sense.
The Dugong Hunt [2012] by pharmakeus 26 days ago
loved how you recorded your voice in this song. don't know what you did, but it sounds a bit different to me and i like the effect. the guitars are my second fav parts. man, you truly are quite a versatile musician, Pharm. a lot of respect for that.
Edurus Ab Configo (very hard to pin down) by A1K3M1 26 days ago
