it's definitely official... you got skills

the phaser, or whatever it is in the middle, is hot

the last couple of your pieces I listened to all made me think of music that should be used for Bjork remixes... this one screams to me that it would love to be a Cure remix. (a slower tempo'd song from Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss Me... or Disintegration would be perfect)

Not that any of them need vocals... quite tasty on their own.

one question... what is "Jormy" ??? lol

Not quite for me... but you painted a very serene, and subtle flowing picture with that one.

This was interesting... don't know why, but it kept hinting slightly to 80's synth music for me...

Sorta, kinda, but not really??? In any event... good job.

Some what chaotic yet spiriling around around the center (the beat)... the stuff that makes a great b-bop song... and in this case, also a great electronic landscape.

A little past the mid-point, It got a little happy sounding (the synth) for my own personal taste, but it fit the song well and works... different strokes for different folks. The subtle and teastefull transitions opposed the slighty chaotic nature of the piece perfectly.

Favorite part for me... LOVED the descending orchestral strings (???) riding over top of everything after the intro, and then before the outro.

Good deal... I was afraid that I'd be the only one this is suited too... I'm pretty new to electronic music, so I'm not completely familiar with genres, but this is definitely a style I am personally feeling.

Nuemuzik... actually, the only thing I used was Apple Soundtrack... although I think I may swith to Garageband if I eventually get one of those keyboard controllers. It's all basic loops. 18 tracks total, 3 of em' are layered drum tracks that play throughout the whole song, and the rest are the sounds that ride over top of the drums. This was actually done at one sitting last weekend... not sure exactly how long... between 3 to 5 hours I'd guess... possibly more. You know how it is when you're in to something... hard to judge time going by if you're not watching the clock.

I appreciate the comments guys... I spent the most time on this... and this is the one that just sat at the back of the list. Everything else has been thrown together at one sitting. Working on it off-and-on, this one was sitting on my desktop for two or three weeks.

I dont' get on here too often, but I'll keep an eye out fir it 4IM.

thanx all... the whole thing with this was to try to get as close to what I like in a heavy guitar tone... it's four tracks of the exact same guitar loop... nothing fancy like lagomort's crazy-ass harmonies... just panned and EQ'd.

4IM... funny thing is, out of all of em' this is probably the first I'll put vocals to.

Agrippa... sounds good... except it'll have be just your show, and I'll be the fill-in music during your intermissions... oh yeah... only on Sundays... I work Mon-Sat smiley
Lestat by scabs 7 years ago
Thanx again all... advice is always welcome. And yes... Lestat is from 'Queen of the Damned'. I've got a thing for Vampires, and Aliyahh was soooo freakin' delicious in that movie. In any event the song brings me to Lestat hunting in the park. I still would like to do a short video for it, but two jobs, and an hour one-way commute, leave me little time for much else other than yard work, lol.

P.S. - love that soundtrack too
Lord of the Things by scabs 7 years ago
Thanx too all that commented... especially the advice. This was just thrown together and definitely sounds very thin, like you guys said. It's pretty sloppy at places too. I'm brand new to all of this recording stuff, and this was my first test with my guitar, and also with Amplitube, which is pretty cool, but I definitely prefer the distortion from my amp miked.

love the groove, etc... I love the rough mix with the instruments, and the guitars tone is perfect for the groove, but something about the vocals doesn't sit quite right with me... not your voice or anything, but something about how it sits in the mix... I'm not sure what... I'd like it more up front and dry maybe...

In any event... I like this.

Great job... makes me feel like a slouch for not taking the time to put complete stuff together... definitely feel the godflesh influence.

Very tasty rhythm and solid percussion... great job!!! Has me yearning for some of the 80's metal... (excluding the hair bands, lol)

I guess I should of warned that this is 10 min 15 sec long... doesn't appear that anyone can get through it... or maybe it's not the length at all, lol.

Nice... I definitely like the vocalist, but I couldn't help but daydream of what bjork would do with it. The pan and delay (or seperate vocal track) at the very end was perfect.
Lestat by scabs 7 years ago
Yeah, it Definitely was not meant as a pop song smiley Ironically enough, I've actually been thinking of doing a short horror film/video for it.

To be honest, it really started as nothing. I had just downloaded the Native Platinum bundle demo (AU/VST plug-in) and liked the one delay preset, so I just did an improv with it (the slow heavily delayed lead) and built everything around it.

Also... I didn't use Garageband. I used Apple Soundtrack. My guitar is going straight into my powerbook's line in(1/4 to 1/8 adapter) The amp simulator is also a plug-in... IK Multimedia's Amplitube.

BTW... I just listened to your "Daemon Blues 2.0"... you're sick man... just a guitar and wah-wah did that???

Very nice job... the tone, phrasing, and everything sounded just like a real guitar.

Ironically enough after reading the description, the voice and delivery sounds like Vanilla Ice over an old-school beat.
