Biography

I think my love of music has something to do with the way in which I remember things. Some people are visual learners, while others absorb information by doing. I can't understand a thing unless I hear it-- Once, twice, two thousand times-- But I always remember when I hear. From a casual conversation to a lesson in astrophysics--For me, to listen is to know.

The best way to get me to listen is to set something to music. Remember the quadratic formula song, to the tune of 'Pop Goes The Weasel'? I do. I can also sing you all 50 states in alphabetical order without blinking. To recall any of that without a tune to reference complicates matters distinctly.

In any case, I'm here to experiment with my own music. I play keys (shabbily) and sing (slightly better). My 'studio' consists of a MacBook, Garageband (with none of the program's package of pre-recorded loops, which has thus turned me into something of an anti-loop snob), a non-midi-compatible Korg electric piano, and a broken set of bongos. I rely on my own voice for most of my accompaniment (for this, it is very convenient to be able to double-, triple-, and even sextuple-track myself). My music is eclectic, and so am I.
