Little Sister (cover) by Jiguma 2 years ago
Hi mates, this is rocking pretty well, and it is a cool version of the song.

I think you sound like a cool tight band that I'd would enjoy listening to on a night out, or any party I'd attend... Kevin has a cool voice and sounds very good and confident on the vocals.

The drums and bass are tight and rocking good. You have found the magic groove... Sounds like you have a good chemistry in this band.

That sassy, cool guitar sounds like it could be keef on a good day... smiley

I dig it when the pianist keeps the band together with these steady patterns heard here.

This band has what it takes. You guys are the real thing!

Wow this was a treat to listen to. What a great collab. I haven't been around icomp that much lately and see I've been missing out big time.

Sweet vocals, great guitars coupled with a funky bass. The drums is right on. Nice production

Wow this is hot stuff. Dig those drums in the intro. And that geetar is rockin'. Also the sound on the "monkey" shout is brilliantly tweaked.

I listened to the original with SRV, and I cant see that I can bring anything more to this than you've allready got here. Its a good version you've made romopssinuca. I tried to play along, but feel I'm only crowding the song. Think its best left as it is smiley
Maybe we could work on something else together...

I dig the sounds you've pulled out of your hat here. Industrial blues with a latino groove. Not overdone in anyway..just pure music. Great work. Could rise to another level with a sensual voice on top of this I think...

So pro... this must be the most professional song I've listened to at this site. Your arrangements is clever put together and the voice is absolutely marvellous to this piece. Mystic and moody in a good composition. Great performance on every instrument present here.
If anything is to be tweaked with in the mix it might be to clear up the vox a tiny bit as it may be hard to get hold of the words as it is now. Could maybe ease up on the wall of sound in some parts to give a bit dynamic feel to the piece. But hey, go ahead, make that album, cause this is great smiley

Hey you play a sweet blues guitar man smiley Your voice is right on for this laid back blues. In my opinion blues like this is best when it's a little rough around the edges like you've managed here.
Keep playing man.

Dont listen to those negative guys. You have what it takes man smiley This is a cool approach. I totally dig the harmonica, and your singing is cool. If everybody was meant to sound like something out of a normalized standard, imaging how boring that would be.

Please keep it up.

Nice cuban rhythms. The vocals is very tender and subtle done. If you don't speak the language I must say you made it sound very spanish to me.. though I dont speak it either, so I couldnt tell the difference smiley
I'm not that big a fan of those midi instruments. They tend to sound a bit plastic after awhile. But its more affordable than having the real thing...

I'm afraid I have deleted the GB file. I make the recordings of my songs to serve as sketches for my bandmates. Then together we hopefully can take them to a next level...

I'm having busy days for the time beeing, so I wont be able to do another recording of this one with room for collab... sorry.

Anyway, nice to hear your toughts. I'll look up your songs here smiley

Messin' With The Kid (thoddi & daddio collab) by Daddio 7 years ago
Well, if I made room for the harmonica in the first place it would be easier to deal with I guess. As it is now, you have to elbow your way to my crowd of guitar and vocals...
There is a saying - less is more - and maybe we should have a go on a tune where there is room for the both of us. What da ya say Daddio?

Hear hear, there is a new king smiley This rules! Very cool Daddio. You have great feeling and musical skills. Love the sound you get, and the steady rockin' rythm guitar. Is the harmonica played through an amp or straight into GB?
Teardrops by thoddi 7 years ago
Thank you Daddio. Its very motivating to read your comments. Garageband is perfect for my recording needs. I use the recordings to put down my ideas on how a song can be done. I then present my "sketches" to my bandmates, and they get an idea on how I think my songs could be played. Then they crap them and play it their way, anyway smiley

This gives me a feeling of deja vu, something I've heard somewhere before. I think its because you deliver a very classic piece. Somewhere between pink floyd and jimi hendrix. Smooth and easy smiley

The guitar I use on this is a "Hagstrøm swede" played through a Vox Valvetronix with a touch autowah effect. Recorded with a studio-projects B1 mic.

I got the blues by thoddi 7 years ago
Thanx Daddio. Its very nice to get such good feedback smiley

The vocals is recorded using a "Studio Projects B1" mic, and I use a M-Audio Ozone keyboard with built-in soundcard to get it into garageband. Guitar is played on a semi-acustic "samick" with the same mic pointed on my VOX valvetronix. Bass goes right in the ozone, with a sort of rotary effect in GB.

Thanks again smiley
Punk Rock w/ Electronica by titaniumducky 7 years ago
I like the combination of styles, but maybe not quite my styles. I'm not sure if I like or dislike the distortet parts though. Is it recorded to loud on purpose? Seems a bit to much for my speakers... smiley
Would be interesting to here what a quiet part put in the middle of this, would do to this piece. However, keep up the good work smiley
