Lion of Fire by Narananda 7 days ago
My god, the picture is a lion of fire! Ingenious! As instructed I played loud and let the sound resonate in my body. It was a transforming experience. This song is wilder than most, with trumpet and jazz elements literally exploding across the sound stage. In fact, this is stupendous Harald. I am amazed and overwhelmed. Clearly lots of care and effort was put into this song. The detail is amazing. Absolutely amazing!
Frogs by Narananda 7 days ago
WOW - these are no ordinary frogs. They kick amphibian butt. As I listen closely I hear the frog calls in the background - ingenious! This song is POWERFUL, unabashed music, completely dominating me with kaleidoscopic musical riffs. The change-up about half way through is nice, with its emphasis on the higher notes - and bird calls! But still, the scream of the frog carries the theme. They of the incredible throats. Harald, this is very creative and enjoyable!

Before the Rain by videoscore 1 month ago
@RazbaqueDirge thank goodness it is not the synth - plugging headphones directly to the keyboard jack gives superb sound. It must be between the keyboard and the output of the DAC. It sure better not be the DAC - a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24. Yeah it's a lower cost model but these things are darned expensive - and all the reviews were very positive. I'm betting on the optical cable. Hopefully.... thanks again so much!

Emotive and truly moving, with the minor chords. The strings weep and the piano sings. A classical masterpiece in many ways. The change in melody near 3/4 of the way through brings a sense of triumph and joy, which ends the song on a happy note. Amazing. Great job you two!
A State Of Trance by ShadowofNine 2 months ago
Wildly delightful beginning spins with energy and emotion, lovely arrangement of various synths set to a driving beat. Oh oh, here come da bass, things are starting to ROCK. Great percussion and absolutely crazy e guitar - yet it still retains the flavor and pace of the initial theme, with which it draws to a perfect close. An amazing example of serendipity (and a lot of skill) in music!
In Chinatown by pharmakeus 2 months ago
I really like the progression of the melody on this, cleverly broken by loud distortion guitar and augmented by sweet e guitar. A heartfelt piece, good arrangement and build, with piercing lyrics. This is a powerful song.

Dave this is an incredible display of musical versatility. The rhythmic backing for this is restrained yet potent, just waiting for opportunity to solo and when it does the result is perfect. Totally integrated, like a live recording. The song is haunting and beautiful. I am blown away. Totally.

Denny!! A Masterpiece! I love the minor chords - this is truly beautiful, I can see why you decided to build upon it. It gets more delicate with nice runs as it progresses - morphing into a work with more fluid movement, fuller with added instrumentation. The counterpoint change up in the middle is fascinating! Nice rhythm and melody. The wah synths and bells are a fascinating combination, again with pleasing counterpoint arrangement. Choice of instruments is great in all parts of the song. The end, with traditional instruments is simply beautiful, a dance of all the participants in a grand finale. Excellent!
Simple Pleasures: Take 2 by Bowman 2 months ago
Charlie, first, I love your description and your artwork. It sets the stage very well (not having heard the first version). The flute indeed sets a memorable melody to the piece. Playful, joyful yet it gracefully demurs as the other melodies appear, for instance the strings and woodwinds. The end, with a nice rhythm building, is delicious but I wish it didn't cut quite so abruptly - it was just starting to catch my fancy smiley Charlie, EXCELLENT!

A beginning full of charm and mystery that builds nicely into a darkly classical piece. The rhythmic change is perfectly timed, a twist in the plot that adds much. The vocal-like part is truly stunning and spine-tingling. Gripping is the word! Then release into a lighter world with a very nice ending. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!
Melusine by Narananda 2 months ago
Beautiful choice of initial instruments - bagpipe with synth overtones. A soaring melody, an Irish or Scottish lilt at times. Very uplifting. The middle bridge is very dramatic with the intense bass, yet pleasing, presaging the magic to come. And magic it is. A truly joyful ending, I feel like standing up and cheering!!!

Deep and thoughtful strings, telling a tale of mystery, of darkness - and of light. And of life. It touches me gently and I find peace and beauty, visions and light, especially in the upper notes near the end. Beautiful, Christopher!
Syria by Narananda 4 months ago
Stunning beginning, ominous, multidimensional; truly emoting. I am swept into a whirlwind of Middle East violence, a hurricane. The gradual change to orchestral is beautifully sad and the timpani at the end, an ingenious touch Harold, leaves me somber and pensive and slightly quaking. You have touched hearts with the piece. Journalism is one of the most dangerous jobs if one seeks to uncover the awful truth. Pakistan is the leading example, unfortunately. Absolutely stunning, right out of the gate. And then, seemingly impossible, it builds from there. The vocals really add to that build. The intermediate electronic break is timed perfectly, allowing the transition to fascinating variations. Again the vocals are so powerful, especially combined with the strings near the end. Truly an outstanding work of art! Nice ending too!

Immediately I love this, the rhythm is catchy and bouncy and the melody most charming. The guitar strumming adds to this rhythm so well. Vocals are wonderful! And the sax, holy cow, that is SO FREAKIN REAL! And it carries a such magical tune. It is a duet between sax and Mary, and a wonderful one at that.

Wild exploration of enchanting sounds punctuated by trumpet, sax and synth melodies. Truly amazing mix! I love the guitar, it is simply perfect: it both compliments the wildness yet tames it, somehow. An amazing song! Ooh, just a little longer on the final cutoff - the reverb is still fading, I would just let it go a few more seconds.

Dark and fearful wonderfully overlaid on joy and mystery. That is quite an accomplishment! I love the evolution of this piece - it virtually explodes with emotion at each turn, yet the transitions are gentle and sensible. It would be perfect for film! I am putting a copy into my list of great music for inspired listening.

In a constructive sense, I could imagine combining one or two of the themes and developing them into a separate song, with memorable emphasis and growth of the major theme. As it is, however, it makes for very pleasant inspirational listening. Excellent work!!

Oh, LENNY!! You cannot know how happy I was to see this! This work has a fantastic build, to unbearable tension: I explode when the guitar melody hits Mach 1. The drums are perfect, they are creative and strong and I feel your inner force through them. The transitions are subtle yet powerful, with zero disconnect, like breaking the speed of sound without pitching turbulence - you find yourself suddenly supersonic. The end is a perfect plug-pull, matching the attitude of the song. The entirety is exciting and beautiful, really marvelous! Lenny! YESS! Welcome back!!!!

@Vixen Vicki I don't think you will ever run out of lyrics - or music. BTW some data can be recovered from a hard drive crash...

OH I AM BLOWN AWAY!ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY BLOWN AWAY BLOWN AWAY!!!! Starting with Gepo's out-STANDING guitar instrumental (LOVELY-LOVELY!), Vicki you added on the sweetest melody I have heard in years. The lyrics are so sweet, absolutely endearing. Vicki and Gepo, this is potentially huge if others in this world love it as much as I do. It has a wonderful folk, vintage 10,0000 maniacal sound. My head is spinning and I feel wonderful. Thanks for a great start to my day! smiley smiley smiley

Wildly energetic and quite creative. The tannic acid structure you use for cover art caught my eye!
Jacaranda by RubyDubidoux 10 months ago
So soothing, so tropical, so laid back. Touching, absolutely touching lyrics! Elaine, you add the perfect touch, like a beautiful bird singing in the Jacaranda. Tommy, a genius! John, lovely touch on that piano! And Stan, you are the man. It brought tears to my eyes.

Elaine's voice over the cool rustic guitar/banjo is a wonderful contrast. The e-guitar parts are choice. The minor chords give it a beautiful folksy feel and the lyrics are heart-touching. Elaine and Chris: beautiful! You should do more songs together.
Singing in the Rain by RubyDubidoux 10 months ago
Oh my, I can really see you dancing and singing in the rain Elaine! Seriously! You gotta make a video. Your vocals are soft with perfect intonation and there is a beautiful element of joy in your voice. I think you must have been smiling while singing!

Powerful lyrics, cutting to the bone! Stan, this is REALLY good! Very inspired, sort of different style than what you have done before, e-guitar etc. Your vocal range is great on this one. In fact this whole darn song is great! Export it and start a revolution!!
Serenade XIXC by Narananda 10 months ago
Like a summer sunrise, it radiates warmth and promise. Rich orchestration, yet simple and soothing. Ahh, the change, the sun has now risen and the day has begun. Like a movie soundtrack I await what turn of events will come, there is a chill in the air. I look around, surrounded suddenly by a world in all its glory, all its humanity. The lives, the stories lived and told. The percussion announces armies in the distance, smoke from their cannons. Harald, this is a multifaceted wonder!

Its been a long time John - and I've really missed your music! This is so beautiful - pure and sweet with a touch of melancholy. The simplicity is charming: a guitar, a gentle voice, touching lyrics and a beautiful way to start my morning. Lovely!
