Slaughterhouse! by ChrisDay 2 years ago
Superb playing, excellent sound - production sounds great - and it's catchy without being monotonous. Great composition, and great performance!

Paul this is a marvelous tune. I'm really glad I got to play on it!
Swingin' With The Sharks by viz 2 years ago
Thanks for the comments everybody. merlino, I can tell you exactly what I did to record it, but you can't tell anyone else, it's secret! smiley
It was a live recording of our recital in a medium-small room with a tightly packed audience. (I dunno if that actually has much effect on the sound...) I set up two AKG Perception 200 mics: one near the bass and drums, and the other near the two horns and piano. However, they were less than 10 feet apart, and it was more just to capture the atmosphere a bit better than to mix the sound. In fact, I didn't do any mixing or EQing at all. The only thing I used GarageBand for was to lower the volume a tiny bit. I'm glad you liked the sound!

I wasn't there when you were walking in the cemetery, but the music paints a very vivid picture. Excellent job finding that mood!

you just making this up on the spot paul? brilliant tune either way!
Chameleon by inkubus4511 3 years ago
Agreeing with feret9000, I'd call it Chameleon inspired, but that's a sick groove. I really like the harmony; it's got a few unexpected turns that sound really cool. Nice work man!
Lazy River To The Delta by slackart 3 years ago
i'm feeling this groove. You should write lyrics; I'm sure there's a singer somewhere on iCompositions that'd be happy to sing to it.
The Candidate by viz 3 years ago
Thanks all! And btw, angelahope: it is John McCain, like you first guessed, but the basic idea is that whatever your political alignment, this song represents the other side. So this could also be about Obama, Clinton, Huckabee, Palin, Ralph Nader, whoever...
Fix It Man by RedthruNthru 3 years ago
agreed with BossHook. Clever lyrics, brilliant horns, sick groove, wonderful singing. Top notch all around.

here's a hint: I live on a state that borders the ocean and is at a higher latitude than Kansas. Plus, if Obama doesn't know what he's talking about, he makes a very convincing (to me) show of knowing. smiley

Nice solo. I really like the feel of this song, but I think you can expand on it. Maybe changing up the instrumentation throughout the song for some more dynamic variation could be cool. Great work though.

Awesome atmosphere you create. I really like the vibes sound. It's got nice dynamic variety too.
2 + 5 = Heaven by brainfreeze 3 years ago
Great song, and really touching! I'm really feeling the two guitar parts; they're different enough to be distinct but not too much as to create a conflict. And great vocals! smiley
