Enjoyed your very Lennonish sound - great song. So distinctive I also sense a little bit of Ian Anderson in your vocal delivery. First class.

Should This Get Finished by RobAnderson 1 month ago
I think I'd 'kinda' leave it if I were you, after all, and as you've already said, it would be hard - maybe even impossible - to follow a creation of such genius with anything better or even equal to it. I think even Bach would be struggling with this one.

@k6 - Jere, I thought you'd had your Titulus Regius ! it was definately put in the post - are you sure you haven't had it.
@Monkaton - Now videoing the crown jewels on the sly is just plain naughty and well you know it - tsch tsch...some people. Re the bass line in this music, - I am informed that it's the second most important part and should always be strong - Liam Gallagher told me that.... Yeh....he did.
@Axelbreeze - Thank you, I think it may be the generally close hamonizing of the top three parts that could be reminding you of ABBA.

Enjoyed listening to this version. I like the way the notes are placed rather than hit if you know what I mean. A gentleness that I associate with singers like Mildred Bailey.

Thank you everybody, your comments are very much appreciated, I am hoping to do a more electronic version of this sometime later. - the gentleman in the picture I forgot to mention is Richard III - he met his end at Bosworth field in 1485 when he led his army against Henry Tudor. Cut to bits he was poor bugger... Thought by most to be an evil king - did he really murder the young princes in the tower ?

This is certainly a treat, I particularly like the way your vocal seemes higher than usual thereby making it stand out more. The close harmony on the chorus is the ultimate lift. Glyn's playing compliments it all perfectly - J200 ay ! David this sounds like you when I first knew you.-[about 1971 is?]

Tragedy by JCLeonard 2 months ago
I like the song very much but feel it may be an idea to raise it in pitch a bit so that the vocals would stand out more. I hasten to add that this is only my opinion and to be honest my hearing is not as good as it could be. I enjoyed it very much just the same.
Piano Scramble [piano, piano, trombone, tuba, congas] by davidsmith99 2 months ago
5

Well well well - what a treat. I love this imaginative and intelligently put together little piece. Especially when we all seem to be in the middle of a modernday landscape where the only qualification to write a piece of music often seems to require nothing more than the ability to press a button.

Piano scramble is quite unusual I think, but despite that still manages to be appealing and very listenable. I enjoyed this very very much - love the title as well.

My apologies for getting here so late. Love this track Sammy as I knew I would and as always everything is just right. The writing, the production, the instrumentation and of course the vocals. Faultless, instant and perfect.
the vowel 'U' by woofer3 3 months ago
@sammydix - Sammy my lovely boy, ha I like the 'ghoti' puzzle, - a new one on me, really good.

Re the language, they were so strict in my school and at home as well, even my music teacher would pick me up on it.

Thanks for visiting fella.
the vowel 'U' by woofer3 3 months ago
@pharmakeus - no, I have experienced no such classes, all this is just based on my own observation. It's just another irritating blot on the landscape along with x factor, big brother and Geordie shore or whatever it's called. The upside of it is that from a writer's point of view there is never a shortage of material to choose from. Ah - what am I saying, sorry that should read 'from which to choose -' now see when I was in school you'd have been picked up for that - ending a sentence with a preposition. How the world has changed.

I have already commented on this beauty in a previous life - I can really add little to what I said before. Great song - great production. Love the vocals and the guitar break and the mix is perfect for me. A very live feel. I am sorry to take so long getting here.
Head in the Sand by mfwmiles 3 months ago
Bloody brilliant and as you well know I never never never swear.

Again such an Elvis Costello feel to this - from a period when Elvis was at his very best and I refer to the albums 'My aim is true' - 'This Year's model' - 'Armed forces' - 'Get happy' - I can give no greater compliment. I recently got the deluxe version of 'My aim is true' which is just MAGNIFICENT.

Mind you getting back to your track, - when I first read the title I though it must have been a song about some of the politicians in my country! Great stuff.
I'm On My Way (from nowhere) by Vixen 3 months ago
That's the road that's leading down to nowhere - been there several times !

I liked this song very much - you have a lot of the girl group quality of the early sixties in this. This was of course the female doo wop part of it all. The Crystals and that sort of thing not forgetting my favourites the Shirelles.
