Neil - this one seems to have passd me by. Its STONKING. I have always loved Wal's rich husky voice and what you have added to it is JUST RIGHT.

Yet again - well done. Brilliant work

Hey guys - thanks a lot indeed. Its very heartwarming...

I don't want this to sound arrogant at all, but somehow after I put this together in about one hour I just had a feeling that it was a 'good one'. Its certainly the one that I am most proud of and is definitely the most commercial thing I have done.

Appreciate the comments VERY mcuh !!

Hey thanks - and that was within 3 minutes of me posting as well!!

Many thanks

The sounds all came from GB. I have started playing with instrument settings and buggering around with all of that stuff. I also do a lot of multi-layering of tracks so take a line and allocate it to two, three or even four different software instruments.

Many thanks indeed

Dottore - this is simply molto classy.

It drips with style and imagination from the beginning to the end.

Molto unusually - this one is definitely going on my iPod.

Quite excellent!!!

Keep your creativity stretched my friend.

Yes Yes YES !!!!

What a performance.

The horn is the best piece of horn playing I have heard for a few years - VERY reminiscent of Miles, Eddie Henderson (My all time favourite) and even Wallace Roney when he plays with Herbie Hancock.

I want to make babies with you !!

Well done and keep up the good work.

Teaks - this is just INCREDIBLE.

The horn ensemble was actually meant to be a muted trumpet like Miles Davis used to play and I simply culdn't find a suitable sample.

Thanks for the kind words - hope you're well

Hey guys - thanks VERY much for the encouragement. Its never easy trying to do something different with a bunch of pre-recorded loops, especially in a genre that you are not really familiar with.

Keep funking !!

Looks like you're building a VERY WELL DESERVED following here

Pure class

Well done and I hope you get what you are after from your musical career - it ought to be a good one

Love the vocoder - have always been a fan of them

This one is just what everyone ought to listen to after a hard day at work.

Miles Davis used to say that 'music' ought to take you to places thatyou haven't been before, and thats just what this does.

This haunts - and I mean that positively

Well done

First Class track

Not the type of stuff that I would traditionally lisen to but hey - I'm listening and liking so there ya go

Guitar just kicks the derriere - I ADORE it. Is it a loopie thang or a real humanoid playing?

a-ha..

More stuff to consume with some recreational pharmaceuticals at bedtime

rather jolly good, what

...now where was that bottle honey ???

BTW - love the stringie bits. What I also appreciate here is that it hasn't become cluttered, which if I may be honest - some of your stuff has a slight tendency to become. Sorry about that, but as they say it takes one to know one.

Production is 100% with a VERY good feeling for the mix

Wow - just got to hearing the end - really VERY classy and listenable. Going on my faves I reckon..

Hey Ian, thanks for the feedback. In fact this track was 100% GB, although the backing rhythm track was made of four separate ethnic rhythm samples
Mike_s_Slapper by zawinul 3 years ago
Do you mean more Derek & Clive, or just more of anything? Am not one for 'songs' in general, although I could without doubt turn this into a Pete'n'Dud memorial track.

Thoughts?

hey thanks Matt - I am particularly proud of my 'rock concert' - it has been a trusted part of the mix for a long time....

Even though this track is not 'going anywhere' it has a nice feeling and I will certainly listen to it again. BTW - I have never seen anyone 'wank' a guitar before - most get a little messy..., n'est pas??? Keep up the good work

Many thanks for the feedback; I am real happy to be different - but without making an effort to be.
If you are in this section of the group then Joe Zawinul is a MUST listen as he was to a alarge extent VERY responsible for creating the modern electronic jazz of today - first whilst with Miles Davis in the *****es Brew period (together with Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea), then with his group Weather Report in the 70s and 80s, and he continues today (at 71 years of age) to do so with The Syndicate. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone interested in electronic music to listen to Joe.

wow - great first attempt - better than any others' tenth attempts. I love the fact that there is space throughout, and that the bass is kept to a functional level - not overdone. Keep at it...

whilst not my cup of tea musically (prefer something with a bit more 'punch'), I certainly can apprecaite that it has been thought through and executed very well indeed. Keep coming through with more - you seem to be getting a fan base in the US, where this kind of music is popular. Well done.

nice mellow groove, but i think that the addition of a melody of some sort would have been a welcome addition to a promising track. good recording quality.

Sverker - many thanks for the feedback. Having been off my synths for a few years I am just dipping them in again. Once the Loop-itis wears thin (pretty soon i would guess) then I will get down to some REAL composing. Its fun nonetheless.
