@RetroTrend
Very kool because I would like to ask, find, and know more about artists like you and the techniques and stuff that inspires you.
Honestly what holds me back some time is not knowing the appropriate place to ask or start that conversation.
@RetroTrend
I would like to know more about your killer track IMPULSE. Link is here..

@ GaryLester

I can start by tellin' you why ?

rhythm always fascinated in fact moved me
& at very young age i was banging on any possible surface
should have bought me a drums then but my elder brother would have
thrown it out the window
anyway i bought a nylon classic guitar instead which was cool
because it taught me lil about chords, pick & strum

to cut story short

house music Gary you need certain tempo 120 up to 130
am usually around 127 or 128 bpm
always cool & simple to start with a bass kick & build from there
if you hear most my house comps you can hear perx along the beats i love bongos & congas it give fresh latin flavours

keep it simple house rhythms don't need too much variations
just a nice flow & breaks & off course a thumpin' bassline

you can later work on the keys or horns personally i love sax
& it could turn it into lovely jazz house
i've done some with puffovski, also some with james & jeff on trumpet

possibilities that can come out from a simple bouncy house groove skies the limit dude

A tautologist might call me a nerd for using his profession in a tautological question thread...

One can always ask on a song's page for more information about how said song was produced. Or even PM the artist for more info.

Gosh, one could start a thread for that purpose, too.

We have the Have you heard ... so and so thread in which to shared one's favorite artists.

Okay, back to the silliness ....

Hi Retro,

I need to come visit your page more often and yes I agree with Gary we get easily sidetracked. The thing though is if we do not use the same rigs and software can we achieve the same quality results.

I am a hobbyist at best but I will say that I always start with the percussion and drums and then layer in the bass. Now when I can I squeeze in a small loop of myself on guitar as I am horrible for now on that instrument.

But I am not all that anyways so what does it really matter.

Angelo, i've used & still use two apps for my recordings & mixing
gb & logic

i prefer logic for the final mix better filtering & sound design

some friends argue with me that reason is better, i guess maybe when it comes to drum & redrum

others prefer abelton or motu

it does differ from one app to another i believe however always use the one you feel comfortable with
