Embarrassing in ignorance - not the shot of a nude me with ice cold water type of shrinkage - but how do you shrink a photo to go with a posted song or avatar? I've tried to use some pics, just don't know how to get 'em small enough for this format. I use a Macbook and a regular Mac. Sometimes the court jester wears no clothes, too. Thank you in advance!

There's several handy ways with apps that come on your Mac.
1. Import the image into iPhoto. Select the image and go to Edit at the bottom left of the window. Play around with the Crop tool until you get what you want. Use the tool settings for dimensions. You can Revert back to the original image at any time (in the menu bar). Then export the image using the EMAIL button at the bottom right. Choose small and that'll send it to an email compose page all nice and compressed for internet use. (It reduces the k/megs of the file.) Drag the image to your desktop from the email compose page and then store it where you shore your other avatar files. Upload that to iCompositions.
2. Open the image in Preview (should be on your Dock). Go to the Tools menu and down to Adjust Size. There you can do a bit of size editing, though there doesn't seem to be any control over where cropping occurs if you change the proportions of the image. And I don't think any compression can be put on the file.
There may be some other ways I'm not thinking of. Personally, I use Photoshop. I think there is a light version of Photoshop for … maybe free, I don't know for sure. |

iCompositions image size for song art and avatars is 250x250 pixels, which is about 3.5x3.5 inches. |

@angelace You'll find all your account settings in the Backstage area. The button for Backstage is found on every page near the top right. Hover your curser over the word Backstage and you'll see some choices drop down. Backstage is a choice itself. Explore. If you have other questions regarding your experience here, please feel free to ask them in the Site Support section of the Forum. Or use our chat (under the Upload, Messages, Backstage, and Logout buttons) to ask another friendly iCompositions' member. |
