Hello fellow icompers, I am new to the site. I am looking for feedback, either positive or negative on my music. I am trying to create a sound with a lot of energy, ment to be played loud at a club or rave. I just dont know how to make my music more exciting. I want it to really make you move and any advice on how to do that would be awesome. here is a link to my page.

Id like a bit of criticism on this, but its a rough version. I just really like the way that the kinda funky part came to me, so I kept it around. Razz

Maybe could someone give me a tip on how to find a nice melody over it for vocals? Im not good at that really.

Please listen to and give your criticism about this electronica track I made called "Nebula". I put a lot of effort and creativity into it to give it that deep space feel. Thanks.

After posting the initial version ( http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=124215 ) many of you sent very interesting suggestions that I tried to exploit in this second improved take http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=127952 .......changes refer both to the structure song and the arrangement but main one I think is the completely new vocals arrangement thanx to my great italian friend Dee!!! Very Happy

Please keep sending me your advices for further improvements.

Maple and I originally posted our silly Christmas song as a bit of fun, but BladeKemp pointed out a problem with the bass end causing distortion.

Since this mix closely resembles the settings that I'll be using as the basis for my album mix, which I'll be putting together as soon as the vocals are done (hopefully January), I'd like to highlight any problems as quickly as possible, so I'd appreciate it if some critical ears could take a listen to Jingle Hell.

Thanks!

This thread is for members to ask for constructive criticism on specific songs. (by becwil)

This is really cool. I to stumbled across this thread per accident (right english?)

As i said at the other thread "Effective criticism" i am here to grow and to develop. ok, music is a matter of taste ..... but the most of us have a clue about music. an i definitely not here for "fishing for compliments".

i ask for open opinion about 3 songs. i hope you donīt mind Smile

well, there would be five other songs i would like to have an open and honest opinion but this is not what this threat is about Smile

greetings and cheers

One of iCompositions' primary goals is to provide a venue for artistic improvement through interaction with other artists. However, some artists are looking for more critical feedback on their music than others.

In this topic, you can request reviews, critiques, and specific feedback on a song you've posted. Post a link to one of your songs to request critical but constructive feedback from other members on the song's page. Feel free to be specific in your request for feedback, although requests for broad feedback are fine too.

Know that by asking for constructive criticism, there may be responses that do not live up to your expectations. Please take comments with which you do not agree with a grain of salt.

Todd, I listened to your piece. As far as your asking for improvement on timing, I think you need to work with a metronome and improve your timing. I noticed that it is off with the guitar solo in certain places. Ok, a perfectly fine way of telling someone nicely how to improve their skills. And, I can either say, yeah he's right and go work with a metronome or say, ok thanks, but Dave Brubeck likes to play different time signatures all over the original signature and that is what I'm trying to achieve. Maybe the aforementioned can serve as a template for those who are unwittingly abrasive and want to give real advice.

I applaud the moderators for stating what the true objectives are and working to keep things pleasant for all of us!

Admin edit: I've moved the discussion of criticism in this post to the Effective Criticism thread. Once again, if you want to discuss the state of criticism on iCompositions, please do so there. This thread is for asking for constructive criticism (i.e. links to songs). ~pm
