Well the waiting is almost over!
Are you going/watching The Olympics, or not bothered?
If you're in UK did you see The Olympic Torch Relay or took part ie a 'Torch Bearer' even?
Two days before the Opening Ceremony I'll be watching Japan v Canada Womens Football at Coventry UK, the first of two Olympic events I'll be attending. |

I will most assuredly be watching. I'm in the US and very happy to see the Brits get it this year. Not to mention I am something of a Doctor Who fan and glad Matt Smith carried the torch for a bit.
But excited to watch NBC with Bob Costas! |

We had the torch come through north London yesterday, as we're one of the five Olympic boroughs - very exciting, and lots of people out to cheer everyone on. I took a little video of it on my phone:
TORCH
As for watching the Games, I'd love to see something, but it's proved impossible to get hold of tickets for any event, despite having tried at various times when they've released new tickets. |

Here's a thing Matt Smith is from Northampton UK, (my hometown, where I'm sat typing this) he went to NSB - 'Northampton School For Boys' and has returned there from time to time to see pupils.
Next week he's in a BBC drama about a British rowing duo in the London 1948 Olympics, all these strands come together... spooky! |

I'll be watching all my favorite events on the telly (thank goodness for TiVo). I think the Olympics are a wonderful ambition for any athlete and a seriously good way for peoples to ignore the political constraints of differing countries. The Olympics bring people together in a way that not many other events do. I love that about the Olympics. And the individual stories of the athletes themselves are so inspiring. Humans are amazing creatures. |

So yesterday I hopped on a train to London, to soak up the atmosphere and see a real life Olympic Gold Medal (in a display case) in the British Museum!

I live very close to the Arena in Coventry where some of the football is staged. Getting tickets was not made easy so I won't be attending any matches.
I am however involved in Godiva Awakes which is part of the Olympic festivities.
