Hello, I am NEW to this site and like it very much. I have a bunch of recorded music and I would like to post some here. I used a few loops here and there that I downloaded off web. I cannot remember where I got most of them but I did a search for "free drum loops" or "free bass loops" and ended up with a big pile of files. Since I only play guitar, I needed some other instruments. Most of these freebie loops were samples downloaded from websites selling CD's containing the full length loops of different instruments such as brass, drums, guitar, keys etc. So I have accumulated a big library of these loops which I have incorporated into my set of songs.
I am hesitant to post my music because of what it says in the terms of service about violating any copyrights. I assume if you purchased a set of CD's with instrumental loops, you would be free to use them as you wish. I am not in this for money, just as a hobby and would like to get other peoples opinions on what I have recorded. Can some one shed some light on this because I would like to post some of my music. Thanks.....w1av |

Thanks for asking prior to posting.
The license on most free loops packages will allow you royalty free use of the included loops under any circumstances, as the loops available from this site do. However, a few companies only allow the loops for "demo use only" and prohibit any distribution of derivative works (AMG is a notable example). To be sure that you're not violating your license and setting the stage for copyright trouble, you should review any loops you've used in your songs and verify that the producer has allowed you to distribute derivative works with no restriction. |
