Hi, I created this forum to just be about creating classical/orchestral compositions in Garageband. So, you can ask questions, post your classical garageband music, and give amateur artists constructive criticism.
Enjoy! |

Well this is a neat idea.
Here are some of mine:

I've recently started to mix classical with dubstep with mixed results as well. The classical expansion packs are great starting points IMO and sometimes, taking a trance synth and turning into a string section (if its green its easy) can do some incredible things too. |

http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=137208 features the very first classical composition I ever made in GarageBand almost a year ago. ZipZipper, an experienced GarageBand user and classical musician agreed to work with amateur ol' me and then added in the full orchestration for a cool result |

Oh Trevs, you're too kind. Seriously...TOO kind. You need to stop.
Well...here are some pieces that I find quite splendid and fit the classical category:

And of course, they are both waltzes...
I wish I could download them...ah well... |

It's been a while since I used GB, so I'm not remembering clearly if GB offers Staccato, Marcato, or Pizzicato srtings in its instrument choices ... I'm pretty sure it does, if not, then in the string instrument Information area make the Attack very short and the sustain/decay also short (I hope GB offers this possibility, like I said, I can't remember) and then make the trigger mark (in the piano roll edit field) very short, or as short as you want the note to sound. |

My new album Cirque Du Scorpion is very classical and also a bit profound in the sense that it's not classical. Here's the first track to the album:
At The Circus
Maybe you'll enjoy it. |
