@To all mods & Admins.

Do you guys ever feel like you've abused your God-like Moderation powers?

No. To be honest, I had to take a minute to figure out some ways I could abuse what 'powers' I have, because I'd never really thought about it. I guess I could maliciously rename every thread you start, or something? Smile

95% of what I do (that's a made-up number, before you ask Smile) consists of moving threads people have asked to be moved, investigating technical problems that people have reported, and sending private messages to site members. Not really up there with Thor.

You said "Luckily 95% or more of the people here don't do things like that and tend to have a great time sharing, collaborating, and learning."

How accurate is this? I'm curious? Very Happy

The number is way higher than that. Over 99% would be more accurate.

Interesting thread, especially as it seems to have moved away from the generic teaser thrown to us:

"Found that several times, let's say:
1: Fighting authority of any kind.
2: Feeling musically challenged.
3: Wanting to be noticed
4: Fighting foreign languages.
etc."

which doesn't infer that the research has anything to do with either iComp OR moderators per se. Instead it suggests that it's people with their own "issues" that might think like this - 1 to 3 are psychological or self-confidence issues whilst 4 is more practical.

Anyway, I agree with what Elaine said earlier - we are truly privileged to have such technology platforms available to us, and if it weren't for the moderators, administrators, rules and privacy then this wouldn't be possible, or maybe it would be possible but far less pleasant.

Well, I certainly hope that this thread was not started on my account. Here again, in my mind any disagreement between me and the operators of the site was simply based on me not understanding and or the rules related to "politics" and what constitutes "politics" not being clearly stated in the TOS.

Now I think its just fine that people do not agree with my way of thinking, as I would hope others would accept my not understanding their way of thinking. In time, I fear, that I will be proven correct, at any rate.

Related to the site an its operation. It is a private site, and it can be operated in any way it choses to. The one who owns the site who's name we do not speak, is VERY smart man who deserves a lot of credit for coming up with the concept and making it happen. It is profitable, but by no means a cash cow at the moment, and it is primarily run by volunteers. Considering that fact, I'd say they do a great job juggling all the different personalities.

No one is forcing anyone to use this site, if you don't like it, if you don't like the rules, then you can simply stop posting songs, and go somewhere else. Or continue to break the rules and get removed. Seems pretty clear.
