In the summer of 2007, I took a trip with my father to Peru & Ecuador. The last part of the trip was 4 days on a boat in the Galapagos Islands -- an amazing place. One of the days we were touring the southernmost island and got to see Albatross -- one of the few species in the world who mate for life and go through many different movements or 'dances' to stay in that relationship. What a great idea for a song about how humans go through dances to stay in relationships! So I wrote a song about it on the boat at the piano bar.

I envisioned it as a pop/r&b duet. So I gave a demo of it to the lyricist using clarinet for male and flute for female voice. Then I scored it live and it was performed using these two instruments as soloists.

This is the sequenced and not live version -- though it has been scored. I have yet to get lyrics back on this song.

A little too close to sounding like 'musak' to my ear. However, there is a good flow. I think the best part is those nicely prepared modulations;although there are a lot of them, they pull the piece up.
