Was started last week of semester for one of my composition classes. After talking about John Field (considered by many as the father/originator of the nocturne), I was going to compose a nocturne. Out came this and it didn't sound at all like a nocturne so I renamed it a Sonatina and finished it yesterday.

Scored live (using Sibelius). Its 206 bars in 2/4 (not including the repeats). PDF available on request. It will get performed live in the Fall (probably by the same faculty pianist who performed "Scar Tissue" live). Likely performance first week of December.

Excellent piece Joel,

If I was required to grade this I would say it was Grade A+ all the way. It's wonderfully alive in it feel and there is a repeating theme that threads throughout the piece. Brave to you Joel this is a very good work.
