Track 2 in my Ramayana series, a musical interpretation of India's greatest epic. (The complete first volume is available at http://davidbowles.us/music/ramayana-volume-1/ ).

When King Dasaratha's four sons reach adolescence, a visit from the wise yet impetuous sage Vishwamitra causes quite a stir: he has been attempting an important sacrifice in the forests near the kingdom, but rakshasa demons continuously interrupt him. Though the king is at first reluctant, he finally allows his sons Rama and Lakshmana to accompany the warrior priest, who teaches the teens how to utilize powerful spells and celestial weapons to defeat the demons. In this way, Rama, avatar of the god Vishnu, begins the training that will eventually allow him to overthrow the demon king.

I've spent four years on and off with this project, and my hope is to wrap it up in the next six months or so.

This is top shelf stuff.....
I really like the placement of instruments, nothing over done
very clean tones, warm as well an interesting layout of sound....
For me it's the simplicity of the complications musically in the mix.......

Very well done....

Beautiful, lush, dynamic, warm, excellent detail ... fitting.

I am collecting all of this series (well, I collect all of your series smiley). Placing this among the others and listening to snippets of some, I'm struck by the continuity of the series over such time. Wonderful concentration on your part.

I also notice that I already have a second track in this series. Or, at least, one that I've, for some reason, numbered as track 2. Could you please post or PM me the list of titles in order of your preference. Thanks.

Becky, I finally put the songs in order the other day. If you click on my name above (right under the track name) and scroll down once you are in my music list, you will see all the songs renamed with their track number.

Thanks so much for your support over the years. I too am a collector of your very powerful and emotive compositions. We are pretty much on a similar wavelength, I would say... a big hug to the significant other, and here's hoping that I finally get out to Hawaii some day!
