I've been hoping to get another collab up with Paul (aka Brainfreeze) for ages but today it happened as easily as stepping into a warm bath. I heard his piece Thanks for Anything and immediately had to sing to it - no words, no ideas, just singing my little heart out. One of my one-take improvs so some will love it, some won't. smiley

Please go have a listen to Paul's original piece at:
http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=152497

It's awesome all by itself and I look forward to the lyrics he will eventually add to the song.

Mighty fine vocal journey Carla.. Many treasures can be found through improvising.. It's a sink or swim mission and you've made it. Brainfreeze's music was captivating but then again I am partial to edgy organ playing.. smiley smiley Kudos to you both

If I ever need vocals similar to Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky" I know where to go.

LOL There ya go! (Paul said someone would mention Great Gig in the Sky!) LOL What's funny is that I've never heard that song even though I meant to listen to it after someone mentioned it in a comment to another song I did (maybe Glory Into Dust?)... channeling
Pink Floyd... how cool is that?

Thanks Scott! I'm with you my brother! NYC Subway, watch out! Thanks, as always, for your sweet comments.

Ha Ha Carla! I told you that others would be reminded of "Great Gig in the Sky". The similarity is the full-on emotion that you show in the singing. You did it all in one single first take, Claire Torry, the singer on GGITS needed a few takes pieced together to get it right.
This was a wonderful job Carla! You really added a ton to this one. smiley

Thanks Tov! And, folks, thanks to Paul's nudging ( smiley ), I have finally heard the Great Gig in the Sky. Wow. It's a trip and a half - totally awesome of course (I mean, it's Pink Floyd, fer crissakes!) - didn't know what to expect in terms of the singing but I see it's quite a compliment when people compare my singing to that of GGIS. Thanks folks! smiley

The word that comes to mind is freedom. Freedom from genre, words, & restraints of any kind. Brainfreeze your organ playing on this is off the charts. Like Beatle128 said def gives the feeling of PF Great Gig in the Sky. But takes it into uncharted territories. Carla your vocals just take it to the outer worlds. smiley Collab made in music heaven to my ears. Excellent!!!
