I can't tell if you're kidding or if you're serious. I would assume you're joking, but that would be really offensive if you weren't. Otherwise, its a really cool song.

[ I'm not sure I understand your comment. You said, "I would assume you're joking, but that would be really offensive if you weren't." Are you saying that it would be offensive if I was joking or if I wasn't? ]

This is probably the first SERIOUS song I've ever done. I was inspired by one of my all time favorites 'Agent Orange', which is quite a bit cooler than this one. I really liked the idea of taking something said by someone less fortunate than myself and using it in a song. I didn't really do much as far as using this person as part of the song, but doing this really made me consider being deaf. This kid is gnarly. He's got it together. If it were me, I'd probably give up.

I recently saw a musical called Big River. Totally amazing - everyone in the cast was deaf and it was by far, the best musical I've ever seen. I guess I just can't imagine never hearing music (or anything else).

I added the birds at the end so the listener might forget the music and think about some of the things we hear every day - things a deaf person doesn't.

So... no joking here. I'm sorry you didn't care for the concept too much, but I'm glad you liked the music.

Neumuzik,

He does say Carson, but that's because I chopped off the part of the school's name that comes before that. Just trying to protect the innocent. Don't they have a big piano warehouse in Carson? I can't remember. I'm usually so worried about missing the cement factories in Fontana that everything else within 100 miles is a blur.

Yes, I think you're right about the piano warehouse, but I have not been in there.

Got some bad cement factory memories you're trying to forget, eh? The last thing I remember was... heavy, motionless feet, then a sensation of being immersed in water.

I'm blown away by your creative spirit. Never in a million years would I think to write a song inspired by/using the vocal samples of a deaf person. That is great! I love it. You have a nice edge to your work.... Keep it up.

Dang B, that was so sweet. I hope you left a little for us, when they were passing out the genius.

Not only was it smart, and well produced, but I swear I could see it being used for some kind of PSA or somthing. One more small tragedy for folks who can't hear, is that they can't benefit from what I think is a very hip self empowerment kinda message you have created here. The double entendre of the word 'deaf' is my assumption, dammit that's good. Props go to the big B, the kid, and the song here most 'def'initely.

I wish I could six it.

Really interesting. Really interesting. BTW a reread of Euphoria's comment seems pretty clearly saying that if you were making fun of the deaf kid it was in bad taste, but you clearly had some really good intentions here. Even though you gave use the spoiler, the birds, the transition from the kid into them was still a surprise. Finally, I find primarily electronic music less than inspiring 90 percent fo the time. This was one of the 10. Thanks, man.

Great song. Great concept. You augment the song with sounds that kind of sneak in there. It's funny that I ran across this song as I do suffer from hearing loss. Probably started when I was a kid. Now I can't hear higher pitched sounds. The irony is that I just picked up some hearing aids today. Yes, today and thats no joke. I was depressed about having to get them, but now I'm glad I did. I don't know how I have been going through day in day out saying "excuse me, I didn't hear that". Now every sound is a new adventure. You're right, in the last couple months, I thought about what it would be like to not be able to hear music, and play it as well. Great job, I appreciate the song more than you know.

I'm deaf in my right ear from a tumor at age eight and have a good case of tinitus from a flu bug that went around four years ago. This song speaks to me...
