Another new song. It took me a little while to get the lyrics and melody, but now im happy with what i got. Whilst it may seem like a downbeat song it isnt.... well not that much smiley

Loving the killer riff & vox, Good to hear an original solid raw rock song, right up my alley, top job, hope this one flys for ya. Can hear an Alice Cooper quality in ur voice you should cover his track 'SERIOUS'.

Little_Hooligan Listener Agreeing with Billy, above..The mixture of down to earth lyrics such as these with the music matched.. The phrasing of Jaded reminds me a bit of Aerosmith's song with the same title ( and yes I realize this a totally different song) as before their's was Bowie's 'Ch-ch-anges'..You got a real good melodic hook here as well as a top pro recording. Hit potential.. smiley

nice catchy hook.. there would be 2 different directions to take this. I would change stuff but thats a personal production choice. I know you can hear the awkward parts.

first direction. Redo some vocal tracks with a tad less flange/compression and a bit more natural reverb. Needs an ambient background Get some more flow into the guitars. Stronger bass and kick with some ambient reverb. most importantly.. up the tempo about 5 bpm.

the other direction is wall of sound with a few more guitar tracks all doubled some with small bits of reverb and feedback.

i think you just need to fill in that missing element to make it good though. sometimes that can be accomplished with just a solid ride or a low volume keyboard track with some sustain in the right spots.

dont stop working on it. i like what i hear so far.

got to say... reminds me of some of my stuff. just a bit younger. hehe

after loistenning to the rest of your stuff i am adding you to the favorites. you clearly have a handle on your sound.

i like the raw sound you got going here...the harmonies especially (as well as the guitar sound). your lead vox are great too! my only suggestion (and who the hell am i to opine on stuff like this?) is maybe a louder snare sound?
great job!

@Alien8ed thanks man I hope this one flys for me aswell.

@Little_Hooligan I had a little listen to the aerosmith song and i see what you mean. I saw a program a while back on the stutter thing it's a weird thing that caught on really and yeah I think Bowie was the first or one of the first to do it and make something famous out of it.

@Blacklilyorchard You have some good point and if I could get a wall of sound with the huitars I would but I ran out of tracks and the more i bouse the more I lose a little bit of the quality. I use a digital 12 track so 2 tracks are used for drums, 1 for bass, 3 for vox, 3 for guitar and one for lead guitar. If i had more tracks I would add more but i cant. Yes im one of those people who doesnt use their computer to record. Thanks for the listen though and the constructive comments, maybe one day i will have more tacks to play with.

@brewchugger thanks for your kind comments. Any suggestions are welcome, unfortunately I dont think i could get the snare much louder without it killing the drum track. Its hard to explain by the way the drums are recorded its a little hard to seperate the drums.

@that80sboy which cheap trick song do you mean as i will have to have a listen. Thanks for you listen and kind words man, im still waiting for my birthday song smiley

Very nice, reminds me of lots of things but probably John Lennon mostly at about the time of the Plastic Ono band or maybe the Elephant's Memory period. Good to hear a real rock'n'roll track.

Ah..always cool to see a picture of you! .....This sounds a bit different than what I'm used to hearing from you...has a heavier rock edge I think...also reminds me somewhat of Green Day. I like much, Murphy. Great song! smiley ~ Cindy

@KCsGROOVE Ive now done a new mix of this song let me know what you think. I havent added keys but thats mainly because i dont have any.

@Cinderella thanks... though not sure having a picture of me is ever a good thing smiley Glad you liked the song and saw something different in it.

@woofer3 I hope my Liverpool accent isnt coming out too much in my music smiley Thanks for the compliment if it sounds anything like that it cant be bad. I was going for a more classic kinda rock feel with this song

@TomDevine Thanks Im always unsure about vocals as like a lot of people I dont always like th esound of my own voice.

Hey Ian, I listened to your latest upload & I actually like this better. I agree that a little bottom might be needed; but no so much since the genre doesnt call for it. the latest mix is too clean for my taste, & the bass is too nice & round, I'd prefer the EQ of the guitars & bass to be a bit fuzzier w/ some feedback peeking in some parts. that's me of course. & having said all that, the tune, the arrangement, the vocals, the hooks, the guitars are outstanding.

Good rock tune, I like it...Ratt style rhythm guitar, nice, quick and riffy, dig it. Vox and chorus are solid. Right to the pod smiley
