This is a companion movement for another Perpetuum Mobile, also posted on iComp:

http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=120045

Perpetuum mobile (Latin), moto perpetuo (Italian), mouvement perpétuel (French), literally meaning "perpetual motion", means two distinct things:

1. Pieces of music, or parts of pieces, characterized by a continuous steady stream of notes, usually at a rapid tempo.

2. Whole pieces, or large parts of pieces, which are to be played repeatedly, often an indefinite number of times.

The ostinati repeats throughout, with developing material in the woodwinds above.

Instrumentation: Piccolo, 2 Flutes, 2 Oboes, English Horn in F, 2 B-Flat Clarinets, 2 Bassoons, Contrabassoon, French Horn in F, Triangle, Timpani(4), Maracas, Drum Sticks, Glockenspiel, Solo Violin, Solo Violoncello, Solo Double Bass, Violin I, Violin II, Violas, Violoncello, Double Basses

I remember the first one! This lovely continuation has a different appeal than the first piece. It's a bit calmer and has a more peaceful kind of charm. Very nice stuff here. I like how it escalates through out.

how are you doing this !?
from the frolicking uhmpahs -
from the velvet brass ?
what are you using ?
maybe it is not to be revealed -
that's o.k. - it is so authentic -
awesome comp. beyond my written words.
and in better tune and mix than 99% of
symphonic orchestras including the london philharmonic. do you have a coronet sample ?
those are a lot like a human voice sometimes.
not that it is needed here !

Outstanding work, very cheerful feel.
There is a realism of being in the front row of the chamber room.
What a fabulous mix too . . .

:: Delightful ::

I love this - it could accompany a film of running/operative machinery of any kind. The melody overlays and overall development keep the interest right to the end.
