This is the story of a long project : After my cover of Alan Parsons Project's "I Robot", Kenneth told me it would be great if we could do a cover of this wonderful song called "La Sagradra Familia", the last masterpiece Erin Wolfson wrote on his last collaboration with Alan Parsons.

The big problem was to find a singer who could sing as John Miles did, a singer without limitation in the voice. Kenneth told me about Scott Reid (aka livelargemusic) and he was very excited to be involved in this project. After a few days, Scott sent me 7 files for lead vocals, lead chorus and backing chorus.

So, we are very delighted to offer you this big project of 54 tracks :

- 1 for the intro voiceover part performed by Kenneth,
- 7 for the vocals performed by Scott,
- 46 for the music and sound effects.

So, here it is, and we are very anxious to read your reactions smiley

Cool project, guys, Great vocal and musical performance!
(glad you didn't ask me for the vocal job, Thierry, hehe smiley )
Good one!
Excellent mix, maybe a bit more reverb on the drums!
Very much enjoyed!

@Narananda Big comment Harald smiley It's very kind of you to be there and the first one smiley Mille mercis a toi.

@Vixen Hello Vicky, we are very delighted to have given you some happiness and comfort if you see what I mean (and what I've read in the chat window) smiley Thanks a lot for your comment.

@KCsGROOVE Hello Cees, hehe, I knew what would have been your reply smiley The mixing of this music was so tiring that maybe I have not noticed there was too much reverb on the drums. Next time I'll send you the file to get you opinion, I should have done it before smiley

@PaulWilkins Hello Paul, I hope this cracker has not burnt your fingers smiley Your opinion is always precious for me, glad you liked it. Many thanks to you.

It's 8:00 am here in the states and what a wake-up call! I am also unfamiliar with this work, so it makes it totally new to me. First, with the music master at the helm, Theirry, how could this be anything other than fantastic! Second, I loved the intro, via Kenneth, and his vision of pulling all of you guys together. Lastly the vocals were real, not staged and heartfelt; more like a steak rather than a hamburger covered in Hollywood theatrics. All in all, I can assure you I will listen again and again to this. With "Sebastian" being my surname, and roots in Northern Spain, a chord was touched, passion, spark, quiet aggression, and resolve.
LOVED IT... JON

What a True Pleasure this Collab Was...I was not familiar with this song at all before I received the message from Thierry that he and Ken would Like me to sing on this One..I You Tubed a few different versions and instantly wrote Thierry back saying I was definitely Onboard...When I received the Mp3 of what had been done with the song so far I was astounded...The attention to detail that had been placed into the music demanded I pour myself into it...I had a few hours last Friday so I tracked some Voclas..I hope my contribution has not detracted from an already exquisite Cover..Thank you Thierry and Kenneth..I look forward to more.. smiley

An excellent collab, guys! Well done to all of you, from Thierry and the orchestration (was Kenneth involved in this too?), Kenneth for the intro, and Scott for the vocals, which cover a large range, so not at all easy. The church in Barcelona is, of course, beautiful, too.

It is an honor to be part of this creation. I played a very minor role. I suggested the song and advised Thierry that Scott would be an excellent singer for the project. And I was honored to read up the intro.
But all the creation was Thierry on the keys and the arrangement and Scott on the all the vocals.

Thierry you have really shown yourself both as a great musician and an arranger. Fantastic work you have put into this.

Scott. You exceeded all my expectations. I knew you could sing it but I had never guessed you would be that good. It is an outstanding performance and people will queue up now to collaborate with you.

This is some of the best I have heard on this site.

This is in my view one of the best pieces of music ever recorded and an extremely hard song to both sing and arrange. For those that do not know the original I can highly recommend getting the album "Gaudi" by The Alan Parsons Project from which this is the opening number.

I'm afraid I am ignorant of the original, and having visited La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona last November this was a "must hear" for me. I am not disappointed! THIS SONG!
HOW WONDERFUL!
powerful piano
beautifully poignant strings
just coool horns
the music is HUGE, and it's so well thought out.
you set yourselves an ambitious task = and reached your goal.
the orchestration builds so beautifully - lovely bass!

"a singer without limitation in the voice"
sounds like you found him!
love the passion in Scott's vocal - he hits that high WOAH with a couple notes to spare.

that was truly a moving experience!
my hat is off to all of you, and my sox are off, too.

When I first landed on this website a couple of days ago this was the first track I listened to. I am a big Parsons/Woolfson fan and this track is one of my favourites. i clicked on the link with the absent minded thought about how could anyone in the professional field let alone an amateur touch the performance and production of the original. A few moments later I was thinking .... Crikey what a fool I was. This production is inch perfect and even more staggering considering it was done from within a computer. I have been inspired to continue my personal aspirations to create music and if that others find my work even a fraction as enjoyable as i found this track I will be pleased

@hywel Hello my new friend and new iComp member, welcome to this great community smiley When I first began this song I had in mind the willing to do it as closed to the original as possible and it wasn' t easy because there are so much instruments and changes in this piece. But the most tricky part was to find a singer a la John Miles and I can tell that Scott was very good in this performance. Thank you very much for this great comment you give us smiley
