This is an instrumental piece with Celtic tone. It starts low and builds up to a huge finale.

It is a piece where I quickly got the melody lines made again inspired by a sound I played with. But then I spent a lot of time getting all the details right and building up the song. Again there is a hint of Oldfield in this music.

Lots of lovely sounds in this, Kenneth! Great finale, with the drums and bagpipes. Very evocative.

Highlands and celtic culture will always be a great source of inspiration for many of us because of the sincerity and purity of the feelings they give. Nice built up and progression in this one Kenneth, full of colors and joy of living.

Kenneth ... I love Celtic music ... wrote a few pieces as well, but vocals! I like the aire about your piece...it's got that open Irish feeling! Inspiring, yet reserved!

i really like the oldfield-ish almost pitch-bendy synth behind the big booming percussion. also liked the delicate fairy flutes. good variation of voices. your builds to crescendos are spectacular! we are talking EPIC here - well done, Sir.

I am drawn like a moth to a flame to anything Celtic...I could hear this as backing music for one of those travel documentaries where they zoom in as if swooping down and flying along a coastline then switch shots to tall peaks and wooded glens.

Thanks for the kind words.

Some of the inspirations to the end with the pipes was Paul McCartney/Wings great song Mull of Kintyre and also Mike Oldfield's songs The Hero and Flowers of the Forest both from his Voyager album. Bagpipes can make an awful lot of noise but in the right context they lift up music from the ground up in the sky and up in the mountains. Living in Denmark means living in a country where the tallest "Mountain" is 179 meters, so I am always longing for the mountains and love to see them when I travel in the world. That longing is well expressed in this song and I am sure I will make more of this nature smiley

Maybe next time I will have found a better bag pipe ensemble sample library. What you hear is a mix of some bagpipes from Logic and from NI Kontakt + some very small tape delay added to make 1 pipe sound like 2. With a bit of tweaking it ended up not too bad. Bit it still does not sound like 20 pipers in kilts in the Scottish highlands.

Thanks again everyone.

Very nice Kenneth, lovely authentic celtic atmosphere. PS. You just need 1 piper.. and 20 tracks .. and lots of reverb ;o) .. oh ..and everything in the key of Bb. (highland bagpipes).

It's good to hear your take on Celtic music and very satisfying to hear that you did not fall for the post victorian interpratation of Celtic music. Great piece, enjoyed it a lot
