A quiet piece with inspiration from both Asia and South America.

The music is in C Jazz Minor (Melodic Minor Ascending) scale.

The image is one I found in a blog with someone noting "Tiny bit of global warming near Antarctica"

Very nice Kenneth! Melodic Minor gives it a more interesting flavor, kind of exotic.

Adorable! And, if I may say so, a bit "cheeky". (Pun intended, but I still mean it.) Enjoyed my listen!

A very unusual melodic scale, Kenneth - not one that I know. Most effective, and I like trilobite2's image of elephants walking in a line - I know what he means! PS I am MOST impressed at the number of hits on this one - in just one day!

Thanks for your comments. It is a positive surprise that this simple piece of music has been so well received.

When I made it - it started with playing with the sounds in my Kontakt plugins and I found this cool percussion sound that goes through the piece.

I then started improvising and the first there came up. And then the 2nd theme came right after. The scale that I ended up using was the one that matched the tuned percussion sound (which plays the same little melody line).

When it was time to add chords I had to find out which scale I was using and it took a while before I matched it with the so called Jazz Minor which is simply the part of the melodic minor scale used for ascending notes.

The 3rd and very asian part came last. I had found this nice sound and the asian melody just came out of nowhere.

The title Globetrotter came from the fact that the music has a latin groove, asian theme, western scale. And the picture came from a Google search for images. I just could not resist even though I am not fond of tattoes either. But as Clay said, there are exceptions.

At some early point I had a title of "procession of ...." in mind. So a procession of elephants. I love that picture.

On the extreme number of hits. That must be some internet bot that has gone crazy. I had around 50 listens. And two hours later there was almost 1100. So maybe 1050 of these listens are not real.

I LOVE the melody, Kenneth -- this is going to be burbling around in my head for the next couple of hours, I can tell. And like Cees said, the choice of instruments are interesting and compelling, adding to the overall charm of the piece. Excellent stuff here.

Nice big fat lead syNth for the melody!! What is it? Very Interesting. By the way your marketing skills are far better than mine, my CD pic versus those "Buns", I simply don't stand a chance. WELL DONE.

A little echo of Ravel's Bolero in there?
The insistent beat works great smiley

For some reason this reminds me of songs from the 20 and thirties even though the soundscape is very 21st century. A very interesting mix- still deciding just where it's taking me

You have a lot of courage to branch out into various genres and this is a successful effort -- although I'm not sure what genre it belongs in! A treat to hear. Nice bass line.

I don't think it ties together as a single narrative, rather (I agree with theironsaul) would make a great soundtrack for a nature documentary about beetles. Seriously even with all the elephant talk that's the first thing that came to my head!
