This song is built on a latin bossa nova rhythm but the melody lines are oriental.

The key of the song is D and the scale is Double Harmonic Major also known as Arabic or Byzantine scale. Normally music in this scale is not harmonized in the traditional western style so it was a challenge doing it anyway.

Instrumentation is also a bit of a mix. There are acoustic instruments like nylon string acoustic guitar, a bass, drums, and strings. And this is all mixed with melodies played by very synthetic instruments.

It has been a piece I have worked on for many weeks. It started with building on an earlier published latin piece. But I soon got the idea to make it oriental. I kept the bass line from the old song but changed its scale to double harmonic.

I hope you enjoy this funny latin jazz world piece.

A very unusual piece, Kenneth - I don't think I've ever heard an Eastern vibe mixed with a bossa nova before. And, you know what, you've made it work! A clever arrangement, and I like the mix of sounds you've got in there - traditional to more synth ones, which has a very nice echo effect on them. I like your bass line too - melodic in its own right. And then it goes a bit Turkish in the middle! Bravo.

OK, this is what I am talking about when it's out of the box! Kenneth, I too would like to create out of the box songs, but have not been too successful in that pursuit. I believe you have succeeded!

Most interesting song to listen to...good music man! I can hear this from Colombo to Beijing!

Damn fine, Ken! "Byzantine"...i dig that. This is very much out of the norm which is so cool...i dig the delay/echo/reverb on the higher melody that starts about 1/3 through (right before the guiro thing comes in)... this transports me...

Very impressive, man!

touch on a favorite nerve with this song: Latin music. got such an affinity for it. Salsa in particular, but there's still much love for the other branching Latin styles. this one gives it a futuristic feel.

Ken this is an interesting concept... a sort of "Ava nuvva negila" nice drums and bass topped with some rather nice sounds that pop in and out. It's great when a plan comes together...

Could this b a first "Turkatin" or "Latiranian" piece the world has ever heard?

Many shekels to you...

i like your blending of electronic and latin inspired grooves in this oriental twist of the bossa nova. Though i have to say i consider this to be more of experimental samba than bossa.. but it works well. Surprised you say you have no musical background.. you seem rather musical to me. Nice job and well done.

When I saw the title I just had to jump in and give a listen.

And the title does give a great hint to the music.

I enjoy your style here as well as other tune you have done. This is a TERRIFIC feel with the USE of echoey guitar -synth (I think it is) . Impressive there.

So much I like here with this tune! Great title I have to say that does bring out the meaning.

This was a fun listen ! Like later on with the symphony violins etc Thanksfor sharing
