We have all tried it. Some every day. Sitting in a train full of people that don't say a word. Secretly looking at each other. Each of us minding our own business. Often the same people day after day. We almost know them. But we never say a word!

Well this don't include me I thing, smiley
I can never shut up,
I talk to every one when I can.
But your nice music tell the truth,
I se many people do what you singing,
It's a shame that people is so afraid to make contact.

Very good song Kenneth!

I'm one of the Silent People much of the time. You summed up a lot in just 8 lines of verse. Your vocal is very resonant and pleasing.

Ken this so good...and unfortunately so true. Lovely track with some surprising elements (sitar) being one of them. Lovely BVs and lead vocal layered over a brilliant track. I really like the feel and the changes (chords)...the solo is on the money too...

Stella song Ken.

Yes Kenneth, this song does reflect most people's travelling habits, but...... not when they're near ME LOL... I'm from Wigan and as anyone will tell you, we speak to everyone as do most Lancashire people. This is a really lovely piece, giving the impression of travelling but with a nicely musically described picture of people sat in reflection, regards M

WHAT AN EXCELLENT FIRST VERSE! - it drew me into the song totally. the "and i never say a word" motif was powerfully perfect. i really enjoyed hearing your vocal unfold, Kenneth.
the straightforward, nothing-but-the-note-and-word presented in its slow and steady pace was very effective. Bravo!

Definitely been there, and I actually think of it often how in small communities we acknowledge each other because we see each other all the time yet in large ones we do our best to ignore one another. Even when there's some common ground.

Same thing bicycle commuting. I try to give a wave to everyone but few reciprocate. Most just do their best to remain isolated.

Lovely simple piece that gives plenty to think about.

A bit melancholy, but quite catchy. Do I detect a slight Mike Oldfield influence? And who's singing choir? Surely not Diane, who swore she would never sing again, after you let me hear her "unprocessed" voice track from "Karma..." smiley

Yesterday my wife and I boarded a bus, and a pack of older Chinese women came in...the bus driver wanted to make an announcement about a detour, and no one could hear him...so I hushed them with the traditional shhhhhhh....wow the daggers I received could have killed a Chinese dragon!

Indeed, I neer talk on a bus...too many ears around...I MMOB!

Very nice song .... Haunting!!!

Good idea for a song, contemporary social commentary. You convey the idea very well; tell the story very clearly. Excellent melodic ideas, simple and strong, sophisticated backing parts that always support the main idea and variety and structure in the form. Well done!

I have a theory (ahem!) besides the fact that most people are closed in their own ear-bud world, solitude and silence is valued in the city since it is harder to find, whereas country people greet each other or nod acknowledgement on the street or trail since folks are fewer. Sounds like the rules of supply and demand are valid in this realm too...

What a great song, Kenneth. Lovely orchestration, such crisp clean sounds there. And I like hearing you sing, it brings another element to your fine arrangements. We have a phrase here for these kinds of people that we see every day on our commute: familiar strangers.

Hi Ken, great great idea. Personal space..... If you were to sit next to someone to talk to on a near empty train would they think your weird ? If so why ? I have often thought why do places packed with the most amount of people, say like London, can be one of the most loneliest places on earth !! Silly really. Good structure and melody , with rich vocals, but found it a little mechanical in execution (not flowing vocals) but that may be your aim. The backing is great and I do like your choice of sounds. Nice one Ken you pulled of a good thought prevoking song well done.

At first, I was like, hmm, not really sure about those synths, but by the end of the track I was like, you know what, that was actually fantastic!!

I'm on the fence about being a silent person or not.

you know what...i can see this as a video...simple little video, of course very literally on a train, one person sitting there singing it reading a paper trying hard not to look around...maybe something crazy, like a little ballet in the middle section....and then all of a sudden opening up, and EVERYONE on the train starting to sing in chorus...

a brilliant social commentary...great song man, great thought, wonderful piece of work

Song is good...your voice is pleasing and smooth. I'm not as much a fan of the 80's style synth, but it does actually lend to the feeling of commuting. Well done.

I go both ways.. talk a lot at events, parties public places even.. but sometimes I just don't want to make contact at all but still need to go places.. in such moments I love putting my iPod on and stare out of the bus window..letting it all pass by... daydreaming... ignoring any human...

This has some reggae vibes to it as well yet not fully present.. subtle.
