I've been in love with this rhythm track I created using Ultrabeat in Logic Studio a few months ago but haven't had a perfect use for it until this morning. At around 2:30 AM I suddenly knew I had to get busy with a Chris Heins' Alto Sax instrument I haven't ever used... man, what a thrill to be able to make these sounds with subpar lung capacity! It's a VI, so I play it with my hands, not my breath. smiley I have loved Saxophones since I was a toddler.

Anyway, this improv just came out in a way that I like so I'm uploading it so I can share it with those of you who might like it also. The sax does all the singing on this one. smiley

AH yeah I am loving this! Getting busy indeed! smiley Mystical, exotic & magical, very transporting. Visions of vast deserts, caravans & sensual bellydancers are dancing in my brain. Ethereal & mesmerizing, soothing & hypnotic. Excellent work & journey.

Thanks for sharing with us, masterfully composed, performed & mixed.

Hope you and your loved ones have a peaceful holiday.

Loving that rhythm track, Carla - tabla is a favourite drum of mine (though I can't play it). I'm impressed that you could do this in Logic!

Thanks Strig! Yes, Iqbal, I love it too. I used to play congas and traps when I was young - and bellydanced for money on the streets of Nice! lol Ah, youth! smiley
I love it that I can reproduce things I'd have done before hand to drumskin in Ultrabeat! The samples we have available now are so amazing. In many of the VI's I use now, there are as many 'extras' like the sound of fingers moving over the frets on a guitar or the slide of the heel of the hand on a conga, that it's possible to achieve virtual realism. I really don't do that kind of thing, though! It's too much planning for me - I am an improvisor through and through. From the age of 4! smiley
