Rush..one band I left out of my previous tributes Ive done here. There wasn't a day that went by when that album came out that I wasn't listening to it.
One of my favorite bands of all time and still to this day.
I learned a lot from them back in the days and wass always trying to get a band together that had their dedication to great prog rock.
I asked my good friend Frank Severino (baboon on here) to please lend his awesome take on Geddys vocals and he did a more than amazing job putting his own twist on this rock anthem.
Enjoy and all comment are welcome.

This is awesome. Rush material is very difficult to play.
By the way, did you catch Alex Lifeson's acceptance speech when Rush was inducted into the Hall of Fame? Priceless.

I don't normally give stars.
You know this.
But for this one I had to.

Production is really close. In some parts the vox were being overpowered by the music. I feel the drums are a bit flat. The bass is sweet, and I'd move it forward a tad! smiley

Overall a damn fine job my friend!

Thank you everyone, Julian, I agree with you in a way but the bass was all over the place so i compromised a little and the mix does need some more work I've been working on this for a week now and the digital dynamic plug ins may be some of the culprits in the overall flatness, at some point I will do a remix again, I'm also going to be doing a comparison of male vs female singing geddy lee heh, but that will be a few weeks down the line.. So very appreciative of all your comments thank you all again.. Glad you all like it

VERY great and respectable cover. Did you use a moog minitaur for the bass synth? I think Geddy actually uses a full on taurus pedal synth.

"Blah blah blah-blah, blah blah BLAH!" smiley. Yeah, vox need 1 db overall and 2db on "The world is..." parts. A little small room short reverb, and some stereo spacializing on the vox, too. If I ran this mix thru Ozone it would pop! Overall, not a bad mix, very solid. Of the 7 vocal takes (done in my car in KMart parking lot) I'd say maybe the doubling could be closer on phrasing if another track is chosen for the doubling, especially on the first verse and "the river" but it's not bad! It matches pretty well the second half. I also liked the heavier bass on the first instrument track you sent me. That synth hit like da bomb with heavy bass on the intro. smiley. I see you're planning to do a battle of the bands lol with woman covering Geddy...alrighty then...my money is on the lassie getting closer to the heart smiley haha...or at least closer to the octave.

I still can't believe how great an instrumental cover Ray did on this uber-complex Rush tune. His playing blows my mind on this track--not to mention getting the drums, bass, and synth hammered out! Amazing!

Actually, I think this is the best mix of the three. My EQ was flat, I raised my bass setting 2 and it's awesome!!
