Great music. A lot of layers in this music. I sense many emotions in this music. A portrait. Wonderful composition that use the strings and the percussion in a really good way. Well done. Thanks for sharing

You do some stellar artwork becs! I especially like the buildup of the intro. Has the anticipating feel of embarking on a mission; I can see the vivid scenery and settings as in the latest Assassin's Creed game I watched. I've seen and heard some of the gameplay, and I can totally envision the protagonist with his hood up creeping around, then when in the clear, running up buildings and such in a sun soaked area. The percussion and hi-strings accentuate this. I also hear something of an uplifting and higher presence. Sorry for your loss, and may Bob rest in peace.

listened a few times, the little glides in the opening show detail I like. the big percussion sounds gave me different visuals each time I listened, dramatic struggles to thoughts of victory, very hobbit like orchestration. mix sounded great here, I wasn't ready for it to end, lol. very cool portrait will live on

Wonderful. Pervasive and beautiful.
Great sounds. Kind of main stream but extremely high quality synth opening.
The orchestral part also sounds pro - ready for movie screen or whatever
Enjoyed and inspired

Whoa..great beginning! Love that synth bass. The strings that follow are also very beautiful. You've brought some very powerful emotions to life with this track & the portrait is magnificent.

I see this is part of a larger body of work. I'll have to listen to it all. smiley

Clean wonderful piece, the word is Powerful,,, a bit with the violin lets the soul in still but the painting is of something huge and moving slowly or defining a past emotional event! Very powerful and moving

Intriguing beginning with the bass synths driving complex mix. The change up at 1:00 or so adds a sudden melancholy (to me), something deeply felt and beautifully expressed. The strings are haunting and draw me in SO deeply. The end caught me by surprise (I wasn't watching the progress bar) but as I listen again it does fit well. This is really a wonderfully introspective song! Full of mystery!

@zefif Actually, I created the drums' sound entirely in Logic. I've often though of buying E/W's Stormdrum 3 and rather than do that just yet, I set off to see if I can produce something similar with all the great tools Logic offers. I'm pleased that you think I've gotten pretty close. smiley

@eagle Yes, I did the portrait. It is done with black charcoal & conte crayon & acrylic washes on stretched raw linen.

A very powerful piece - majestic and sober, a perfect tribute. I love the snare drum and the tolling bell, and that eerie string melody with the ghostly harmonies. So beautiful. And I am stunned at how fantastic the portrait is. You are very talented!

@RedthruNthru Yes, Bob was one of the kindest people I've ever known AND he had a wicked sense of humor, too. He was a great friend to have for 45 years. He's gone way too soon!

I love the drama of this, it's very powerful and quite moving.
I really enjoyed the orchestration especially the well drilled classical percussion. A neat marriage of electronica and traditional orchestra.
The violin takes center stage with a haunting almost melancholic part.
It's also quite an impressive mix with some stunning detail..
Have to say that's a very accomplished portrait too...
Is there no beginning to your talent Becs? lol. smiley thingy etc...

first thing that hit me in this piece was the mood. sombre as expected, but not completely crestfallen--like there was still some amount of positivity despite the main theme. sounds like you remember the good, but grieve the loss at the same time.
