June the 5th 1849 was the day that Denmark went from having a king with absolute power to being the constitutional monarchy we are today. The constitution has been changed several times since. Latest in 1953. The politicians always made sure that the new constitutions were signed on June the 5th to maintain that date as constitution day.
This piece of music is a classical piece that celebrates this important law which is the foundation of our democracy and our human rights.

The music is for a full classical orchestra and one tiny synth. It starts in A minor, modulates to C major and back to A minor. It ends in full steam in E major. It has some Nordic melodic influence in the minor key parts and the major key parts play a melody that expresses celebration.

Congratulations with a fine piece and on the celebration.
I think too it has the characteristics you describe.
I can imagine the middle part where everyone is standing up and singing unison together a fluffy text about human rights and freedom.
I think you managed to get a great sounding orchestra. It is not intended to be adventurous, the single synth voice you use sounds fine and feels quite natural and good. The chords and melody transitions from 2:20..2:30 sounded a little odd to me, It's interesting you made it that way. Im very pleased and impressed by how well you made that orchestra sound. You have succeeded with what many others including me struggle with.

Very nice work--all done on your new Logic X, I assume. It has a great sound. I enjoyed the explanations about the music also.
Hope your new bathroom is finished or at least coming along.
June 5 gives me a memory also--like graduating from high school June 5, 1960. smiley

I don't know if it's because I your description but this has a northern European quality to it that I enjoy. A stoic grandeur that is inspiring.

I never listen to classical music, except done by rick wakeman, so I compare this song to that kind of classical music I listen to. The addition of synths bring it to my criteria. very good mixture of instruments and melody.

This is a really good piece Kenneth. I started real getting absorbed when the flute started, and then as the piece moved on, and all of the different parts moved in and out, I began to consider that this has a very detailed tapestry and it was proving to be a very interesting composition. Good work, much inspired by it, and most certainly thanks for sharing!

hi ken, interesting info on the signing date, I don't think we have a constitution in canada, I think its more of an oath eh!, lol. those strings sound really good, nice the way you build as it goes into something grand and end perfectly at the top of your game.
cool project, I dig

that wonderfully majestic and serious minor key intro sets the scene. I love the oboe - nice tone to it and it brings up the melody with its curious little semi-tones towards the back end. The flute introduces a change of pace, with light and a major melody with those gorgeous strings. The synth is a fun addition and works surprisingly well, and brings in an element of playfulness. And i LOVE that full-sounding ending, truly like you had an orchestra at your disposal. Glorious finale to the piece.
