Empty Spaces. The empty chairs that are left behind when people were laid off. People that are greatly missed. This describes the feelings of us that were left behind.

A classical piece for full classical orchestra. It took 3 weeks and 20 tracks to complete this piece of music. I hope you all like it.

bravo
the very opening reminded of grieg
wonderful rendering, super strings
that's a lot of empty space (in photo), lot of possibilities
Iin the meantime a sad memory of the people that where there, which you communicated by this peace.

A thoughtful and reflective work that reminds us of the souls we encounter that move on but are not forgotten.
Deliberate, somewhat mournful and touching.
I very much enjoyed this moody piece of yours my friend.

Little_Hooligan Listener Agreeing with the above comments, Kenneth. I have grown 'used to' lay-offs in my own employment since the late 1990's..and no matter how much we dig into our own self-preservation, it still takes a toll, on a personal as well as financial level. May folks be granted a light at the end of the tunnel, a regeneration.. I can hear all the work you put into this and the tender care into your preparation. That end note to me is a 'waking up'..like finding that light.. smiley

A nicely dark, psychological opening. Germanic clarinet writing. That 'Oboe' sample sounds a bit wonky in places. Are you using Oboe or English Horn? Nice details, in places - like with the Harp writing. An enjoyable Flute/French Horn solo. The string section could have more to do, although you do involve the Celli section in a soli later on. Three weeks is a lot of work, bravo!

Very beautiful Kenneth.. Too bad it has to reflect such a heartbreaking ordeal! I understand the workings of the symphony and how it does consume so much time to get it just right. The work here is beautiful but repetitive. I would have used a second phrase to bounce off the first. Otherwise it just becomes a hammer of the same voice. Thanks for the posting!

Delightful,Sad,and heartwarming, a force, not sure about the sound banks used, in that at times they don't sound right...Are these the Apple Orchestra sounds or Miroslav ? Funny thing is even my East/West has some instruments that just suck anyway it the quality of the composition that counts, and this one counts smiley

You deserve a 5 big stars for this piece Kenneth. Great frustration can be a great source of inspiration. Very nice/sad intro with a beautiful clarinet sound. Your air instruments are just wonderful. I would have seen a nice strings only section somewhere. One of your best my friend.

Somber and mysterious clarinet here is in such a serene undisturbed natural niche by itself and fits so well - the more nasal woods are so hair-raising and rich and pristine - everything in this one gears up and churns into a mixture to live for - entering @ 4:11 this vibrato cello string sound is great

Beautiful opening instrument - a bassoon or clarinet? Lovely deep tone to it. And the dramatic arrangement behind it with the kettledrums heightening the effect. Orchestral and majestic. The oboe against the harp is a lovely combination - of sharp with soft. I'm not surprised this took three weeks to compose - it's such an accomplished piece. Melodically soaring, haunting, melancholy.

I could surely understand that. I went through that many times now including watching colleages leaving, being laid-off myself (2 times) and company closures (2 times).
The mood of this song fits the theme very well. Really heavy at times. A brilliant piece of music here. Thanks for sharing.

What a beauty. Richly layered and multi-dimensional. Mournful and somber. Yet full of life. Conveys the emotional state of those 'empty spaces' beautifully. Many chill inducing moments here. Fantastic work, thanks for sharing with us.
