"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is a song written and sung by Bob Dylan for the soundtrack of the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Released as a single, it reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Described by Dylan biographer Clinton Heylin as "an exercise in splendid simplicity,"[1] the song, measured simply in terms of the number of other artists who have covered it, is one of Dylan's most popular post-1960s compositions.

This song has been a Huge Favorite of mine for many many years and now that I am now at the age where many people I have known and loved have already Knocked on Heavens Door and have hopefully entered the gates of Heaven.
We all will eventually Knock on that very same door at some point in our life … hopefully not anytime to soon … This song also is my very first attempt to sing a song and record it as my very first Cover ever with my voice... I personally have chosen to try and do this and Dedicate it to the Memory of :

My Wonderful Parents … Leo and Martha
My Ex Wife ………………. Marilyn
My Ex Wife ………………. Mary
My Brother in Law ……… Dave
My Son in Law ………….. Sal

and many other Close Relatives and Friends I have lost in the years gone by …

Thank You for Listening …. This song will never be available as a Download with Respect to Number One ….. Mr. Bob Dylan and his awesome talent to write such a powerful song as this …. Enjoy! and Thank You for listening smiley

Sincerely Jim aka eX1

Wonderful dedication for all your loved ones that have passed on, very touching sing on it. I like your voice much, it's real & down to earth, and I also like that you don't put too much in the way of effects on it.

You don't say what part Penchant4Sound played in the production. I'm guessing it's the super harp playing I'm hearing?...something I always so enjoy in a song, especially a Dylan song.

Loved the listen, bravo to both of you, great version of this classic. smiley ` Cindy

very well done. Fine delivery on vocals and good playing. cool arranged parts.
Thanks for all the info on the tune, I must have played it thousands time without knowing. There must be something to the 'splendid simplicity'-characteristics;
