Really good track.

I really like the chord progression. I like the bass line. Great beat. I like the simple melody line played by the fuzzy guitar.

If I am to give you a little constructive feedback then it is to get more courage with melody. I miss a clear standing out melody instrument in the sections where we just hear the arpeggiated chords. Let an instrument sing a song. What I do is sit for hours playing along with my own progression and let the melody just happen by chance. And then trust your ears that when you hear something right, then it is right.

You do such masterful orchestra arrangements and I really enjoy the listens.

Thanks, Kenneth. I designed this song to have a strong up-front vocal component, thus the "breathing room" (believe it or not, lyrics are still in an unfinished state after all this time). I am, however, delighted to receive your comments as you really pay attention to all details with regard to song construction and recording quality. Frankly, I cannot fathom how you are able to maintain such a high-quality recording output and still have time for such thoughtful comments. Thanks again. I appreciate your music and comments!

Your music tells a story or paints a pic every time. I look at songs like a paragraph: does it have a topic sentence, supporting details, and a conclusion? Yours always do and they each tell a different story or paint a different picture. In essence and being appreciative of Kenneth's comments, my own feeling is it doesn't really matter if a strong melody line is present or not. Motif can be stronger than melody. Feedback based on personal opinions of how to construct a song is just that: personal opinions. If I create something, I appreciate feedback such as "your bass levels are too low" or "your singing is off key". If I say, "you must have a middle 8 in there because all songs need a middle 8", then I'm just foisting my personal tastes on your ideas. That would be rather pompous on my part. While somewhat appreciated this may not be remotely close to the actual feeling or objective the artist planned when putting it together. Just my .02. Sounds great to me in a nutshell.

Ken has a point and so do you. Has a fun feel to it just begging for a vocal. Triumphant feel of topping the hill feeling the burn and seeing the view.

That's what I love about iComp. Everyone brings a unique perspective that I find very informative and interesting.

Thanks, Big Jim and thanks, Trilobite.
