Inspired by the Country Stomp by sprkymrt I decided to try to make a similar piece of music. Well, as always creative process combined by limited skills makes a very diferent result. In this case it sounds more like a folky polka song. So here is my Stomping Polka in a Country Folk type of mix. I love to play with different genres and I hope I did not mess this one up too much smiley

Super fast arpeggios in the background. these give a country feel to the piece. The flute feels Andean. But main melody line once more gives it a country feel. Fun and winsome. Some very unusual chords too, which surprised me. Catchy and good natured.

Good motor in the banjo picking and guitar strumming.
It's certainly happy music!
If it mixes genres, it just makes it twice as happy, and I think it does, but
I'm ignorant of the nuances of hillbilly music and can't nail what a country stomp is other than dance. You won't see a high level dance competition where half of the pairs are dancing polka and half of them dancing country stomp but on the local dance hall anything goes if you're over twenty.

Just had to check this out and I wasn't disappointed. Nice banjo work and the drums add to it also. I like the change in the middle and you used a nice selection of instruments. For me this was too short. Enjoyed.

Forgot to say "thank you" for the mention in your song information. Looks like you have a hit on your hands from all the comments. It's always fun (and sometimes challenging) to try something new.
When I joined iComp I thought I'd do some big band and jazz numbers but haven't done any yet. Instead, I've done church, Mariachi, Native American Indian, country and even tried a band number. (The Calvary Song, which for some reason is my most listened to piece. ???}
Thanks,
JOE

Kenneth, Good mix - love the chord progression. Makes me want to dance, which would not be a good thing - more comedic in nature than actually dancing, but I digress. Liked the melody. Just the right length. Keep up the good work!

Just had to come by and listen and read the rest of the comments. The Pope is visiting the US this week so I don't know if that calls for a little Gregorian chant and a "Vatican Stomp" or not.

Enjoyed this again and am putting on my new Mac.
