Sometimes I get a little sentimental when I think about old friends and colleagues that I used to be with almost every day and now they are either no longer part of my life or I see them very rarely.
So this music is dedicated to the old friends.

The style is a slow pop piece played by a mix of synths and classical orchestra. In this piece two of the leading instruments are synthed versions of sampled piano and guitar. But as you may notice both the piano and guitar do not sound authentic, and that is intentional. Both are sounds created by one of the most interesting sound designers PluginGuru. The piano patch is called "Do Androids Dream?" and the guitar is actually two different electric guitars layered and processed in patch called Stratus M. Stratus M was actually a BPM type patch where I removed the arpeggiation because I loved the sound of the instrument itself. Especially in the upper register where it almost sounds like a harp. The orchestra patches are all naturally sampled classical orchestra patches.

I hope you enjoy this piece of music and think about your old friends when you listen to it smiley

Wonderful Piece my friend!
I normally never critic your music,
This is a beautiful song really nice instrumental,
with instrument that I like.
But I must be honest in my opinion, you know me smiley
The only thing that make me writ this, is a matter of taste,
so probably only me,
But I think it would be even more beautiful,
if you bring down the reverb on the piano.

@toveco Thanks for the nice words and critique is always welcome on my music. As I write in the description the piano and guitar patches do not sound authentic and I guess John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl (PluginGuru) intended that because it is not a reverb plugin but a 1 seconds release on the ADCR envelope that adds the long tail. The sound is built from a single sample of a piano which is then stretched and processed to give this spacey dream sound. He actually layered some random robot mumbling on top which I finally removed. The piece evolved from being two synths and then I later added more and more classical instruments. I finally removed the original synth stringy thing. I did consider replacing the "Android" piano with a real one and the Stratus M patch with a real acoustic guitar patch but I decided to keep them as they were. I am sure it would have sounded great with the acoustic patches making the whole piece an all acoustic piece. But I like to experiment. Even if the result becomes a bit odd to the naked ear that hears it the first time. It is easier when the music is pure electronic. But when you layer electronics and classical acoustics you play with people's memory about how things normally sound.

Thanks for taking the time to give critique. I really like that.

Nice track, the blend of processed sounds with natural orchestral sounds works well. The piano sound reminded me of Childrens Games by Antonio Carlos Jobim. When I listened to that again it is obviously also a processed piano sound and not a synth.

I love the blend of synths and orchestral instruments and as you may know I often use that kind of mix. From the first note I was touched by the heartfelt of the sounds. And I love the pseudo reverb of the piano, this adds some melancholy to the piece. A very nice piece Kenneth.

Man - that is gorgeous! Beautiful composition and nicely arranged and instrumented. I like the little clave hits in there, subtle, but impactful. Great piano lines and the synth strings are sweet. Nice track!

I'd love to see your interpretation of a Vangelis piece at some point, maybe the Blade Runner theme song or something. I think you'd do a bang up job.

Very enjoyable. Evocative and warm.. sweetly melancholic. Strong on melody as with all your music. I really like those sounds that are neither completely piano nor completely guitar and there is a lovely clarinetty sound (perhaps that's a real sample) towards the end of the song.
