Indaba are running another competition to supplement their licensing catalogue and this brief is for a Tango. Entries are sure to range from the traditional to the very modern.

For this composition I have gone for traditional instrumentation including a Bandoneon but I doubt if I have conformed to the traditional conventions and styles of the genre.

The track marks a big change in my recording setup. For the past few years my patches have been provided by a Yamaha mm6 Keyboard but this has now been replaced by a Roland Integra 7 module. I hope the sounds are a bit more convincing.

The composition and arrangement seemed perfect for the target.
Very well made.
The instrumental sounds are fine.
You can not know what the Indaba guys think fits best their goals.
I think it could have a little more character, definition and virility.
I think a lot could change/improve with way the bass is played - although I dont know the Integra 7 module - according to a utube promotional video ," it does not matter how you play it, it will always sound super-natural."So I don't know if it is "too smart". A little more accent on 1.5 and a little shorter notes at places would do it. Another thing is you could cut back on the longest violin notes .

@Xolv thanks for the comments they are much appreciated. The Supernatural sounds on the Integra take some getting used to. They are like sampled sounds and have no obvious transitions between velocity layers. There are however lots of other PCM sounds and on these you can get your accents by just shifting up to another velocity layer. I will try some other patches for the bass before I submit my entry. I will also do some fades on the violin to get better endings to the notes.
