Track 10 of 11 for the 2017 RPM challenge which I recklessly decided to do again. If you are not aware, the goal is to write and record an entire album in the month of February. I chose to construct a soundtrack for a film I've been contemplating for the last 15 years. This was actually a surprisingly smart choice, as the details of the plot moved me in musical directions I would not have gone on my own.

As usual, everything was done without a computer or DAW, though there is significant step sequencing especially for drums and bass. Lead parts are all played live, without quantization of any kind (you can't quantize analog magnetic tape so far as I know, lol).

Thanks in advance for listening! Your comments are so helpful.

Cool sounds. It does sound like something from an 80s sci fi movie starring Mathew Broderick. Very retro vibe. smiley

I tried the RPM challenge in '15. I couldn't write the lyrics and get the vocals in time so I sent it all in as instrumentals. Since then I've been trying to finish that album and I'm still 3 tracks short. Naturally, this has kept me from trying ever since.
I might give it a go next year if I can just finish those 3 tracks.

I'm glad I did the RPM Challenge since it got me to thinking about making music, which I've neglected lately.
Intrigued by the urgent feel. Enjoyed the melodies and overall feel. I found myself captivated by the drums skittering across the pulse.
