After a busy number of months, was most happy to be able get back to my music.... .....After too long a period, I get withdrawal symtoms from not singing, or creating, and feel like I'm going to EXPLODE if I don't let it out!.....I'm sure most of you know what I mean. smiley

My son, Trevor did up all the music on this, (Thanks, Trev!) and added a bit of background singing to boot. ..I really like what he did with the ending. ...........I wrote the lyrics, and added lead vox, and some MORE background singing. .....Had a ball doing it....hope you enjoy. smiley ........................p.s...Wasn't too sure of the genre, what do YOU think?

Cinders! It's great to see you post a new song! It's been a while, for sure... as a matter of fact, I was wondering where you've been. I was gonna check TIK, but it looks like the site is down? Anyway, I absolutely LOVE this song... it's got a really nice catchy melody that sticks in your head. And that's probably the MOST important thing when it comes to songwriting. You did a GREAT job coming up with that vocal melody, and the lyrics are spectacular, too!

Trev did an awesome job on the music! It's good to have a collaborator "in house." I'm VERY fond of this one... I'm on my fourth listen right now! You made the right call by having the backup vocals mimic the lead vocals on every 2nd line, instead of every time. Very SMART use of songwriting there! Two thumbs up for both of you... I can't find enough good things to say about this one!!

As for the genre, I'd probably say "Pop." It actually sounds kinda like something The Beatles would have done (especially with that very cool wacky ending). smiley "Alternative" works too... the song had a bit of a "4 Non Blondes" vibe to it, and they were considered Alternative (but I'd go out on a limb and say they were actually 90s Pop) so either one works. Once again, AWESOME job!!!

@Mark_Cheetah - Hi Mark! .....How wonderful to have you in the front row of my audience! .......Gosh I so enjoy reading your comments. You always let the person know what you liked, and why. YOU really listen closely to someone's works...you're special for sure! ...The fact that you know so much about singing, music and production makes it all the sweeter.

So happy you liked how this sounded, I really enjoyed letting my creative imagination go with this, and had fun. .....The mix was something else...I tried out so many different combinations, and still couldn't find the perfect one I had hoped for....so I settled for this one. .........Trev produced the music for this piece years ago, and did up his own song for it actually...(completely different from mine)......BUT...when Mom likes the music enough, good son that he is....he rarely says no to letting me do my thing with any of his music productions. smiley

"Pop" sounds like a good genre for this, and yes, I immediately thought, "Beatles" concerning the ending....sure can tell I raised him on their music, huh?.....ha ha! ........My ears also hear perhaps a bit of Simon/Garfunkel in there too. ......At first I found the song rather short, but reminded myself, some of the BEST EVER tunes from the 60's and 70's were like that.

Thank you so much, Mark, for your always encouraging and kind words, very happy to know you enjoyed! .....p.s...Still waiting and hoping we'll hear something from you too, soon! smiley

It's almost kinds bluegrassy too if the temp were faster maybe? I could definitely hear some banjo in there.

Like someone already said, it's catchy and that's the key thing.

Great job, Cindy and Trev!
