FAN THE SPARK... (or “Mikey discovers arpeggio!” Ha ha...)

Inspired in part by Van Halen's “Jump,” Jethro Tull's “Broadsword and the Beast” album (1982), and the theme to “The Never Ending Story” movie; this was my first serious attempt at achieving an 80s hard rock sound.

Recorded in January 2017. Newly remixed and remastered for this posting. (Drums are DOD)

I hope you like it.

Be well all!

That there's a "Talking Head" style delivery/message too. Didn't feel the Limahl influence though. Good one. Thanks - Phil

I've got the Talking Heads comparison before. Strangely, I've never listened to them! Happened to me once with Mott The Hoople. A song of mine was compared to one of theirs and I actually never heard the band...but I'll take it as a compliment to be sure!

Thanks for listening bro!

Thanks man! Been a Tull fan most of my life... since 1969.

This was great fun to do, in part because it sounds so different from what I usually do.

Glad you dug it!

I think it's mainly the synth in the far right channel.
