I just recorded this. Its an old song of mine - just me and an acoustic, no loops not even a click (it kept throwing me off).
I think the production quality is pretty good. I used 2 cheap condenser mics and some reverb. Please let me know what you think. James T

I know what you mean about the click track. It can really mess with your natural performance. (Then of course you run into trouble later when a drummer gets angry that they can't record a drum beat over the top of your crazy timing).

How did you record this? One condenser for vocals and one simultaneous for guitar? It sounds pretty good.

I don't know nothing about microphones…
Bu I adgree with Diversion and you… cick is a mess sometimes…
And I persist (is it english) with what I wrote about Lambchop and Kurt Wagner's voice… you're great James…
I'm gonna follow what you do in there… smiley

Again, i like the proximity you create…

Thanks Guys. Yes cheap condenser mics (an Apex and $30 Superlux) one on voice and one on guitar. I use a little tube preamp into the audio jack of the old G4 350. Almost time for a new one... I'd love to get that new Imac G5.

Yeah, now that I think about it, this song is actually very LambChopesque. My apologies for doubting you Brother.

James, I'd really like to do a cover of one of your songs but I just think your arrangements are fantastic and I really can't conceive of a different way to do this... great song...

Thanks Ponkey! It would be an honor to be covered by you... I have about 4 more songs in the works to put on... maybe one of those might work... "Brother" is going to do an arrangement around my song "Blue Eyes"

That's odd, I could have sworn I had left a comment on this last week. Guess I forgot to click "Submit" again!

Very great song. Can't hear the first line without thinking Lou Reed, but then again, he's one of my all time favorite singers. Great bridge.

So Ponkeys interpretation brought me back to the roots and the master of this great song. Reminds me of the good old never ending folktimes where we were sitting round the fire singing Guthrie, Dylan and all the other song poet´s songs. This is pure poetry. Great.
