I like where you´re going Woody.....although it´s a bit distorted and maybe you need to mix it better. But I love the different melodies you´ve put in there.....great creativity !!!!
Keep it up and throw us some more tunes of "Woody goes Classical" smiley

(On the fly - first play - thoughts (No offense intended))Grandioso beginning. It is rather full of itself, but does it pay off? abrupt change in the beginning. I like the da=da play but not the voc background - could have used cello and bass instead. Perhaps a better lower register (horns -baritone and tuba)abrupt string transition. Repetative sequence in the early middle. More dynamic volume would be great (where woodwind comes in). Harsh switch to electronic sound - kind of throws the theme off. Nice recovery where woodwind comes back in (clarinet?). Like the way the horns come into play - beginning build (don't like the vox). Better bells would have cooked it properly, or perhaps harpsichord. Haven't heard any percussion yet. I am surprised by that. Overall, the chord progression give a celtic/oriental feel to it. I don't think I have ever heard a mix quite like it (from a chord stand point). Wow, wow vox? Horns feel kind of disco-ee. Strings really feel synth too. I don't know if that is supposed to be organ or something else. I would really love to hear the vox as a hitting bass section doing the same thing, with a double beat. That would make it. Those horns really make me want to put my dancing shoes on. Chord progressions are getting more interesting. Vibrato keys? I am still wanting to hear the low end and how it would fill the chord progression. Perhaps something that walked the low end of the chords? (end song)
My intent on writing this was not to offend, but rather to put my first thoughts down on what I believe is an interesting piece of work. I think that it could be excellent, but have to say that I have some issues with it. I would love to hear a lower register represented on this piece. I have issue with the horns, as mentioned above. The ending doesn't do justice to the grand beginning of this piece. I am a little unsure of what was used to produce the sounds that put this piece together, I am assuming synths. That being said, I can understand some of the sound issues. The overall take and direction, I like. I would love to hear it with some other instrument selections. I would love to hear real bells or harpsichord, in the section mentioned above. The vox, used sparingly would be nice. I think it was used a bit much (strictly my opinion though). I liked the progression, but would liked to have heard a much fuller sound. Round it out by bringing out the register.
Honestly, I think you did a great job. I know that I couldn't have done any better and, probably, would have done much worse. However, as I said, these are my thoughts as I am listening to the selection, up until the "(end song)". What I put here after that is, hopefully constructive critisism, and not intended to do anything but help you make this into what it can truly be -something great.
Thanks for listening to my thoughts. Feel free to discount them, as I know I couldn't put something as complicated together. I enjoyed listening to this.

A little too repetative is some spots, but not a very big problem (expecially since I liked the stuff, even when it keeps going....) though using the repetitions to build and add insturments is always something I will like. the transitions are a bit abrupt (Silence to switch parts never really sat well with me). I couldn't agree more withIlluminator about the synths coming in so abruptly. If anything, I would say the vox needs to be louder for a more balanced sound, though adding bass along with it isn't something I would complain about. The synth was occassionally too harsh/out of place with the smoother orchestra insturments. The horns at the beginning sounded heavilly synthetic, as well as at the part where the bass was heavily on the on beat. The chord progression in the first half as boringly simple, but it does do a few interesting things later on. Still, it remained fairly "the same" throughout. The end had a neat Trance genre feel to it. It would have been nice if you tried passing the same melody around a few different insturments (especially in the parts where I want to dance). Speaking of "full orchestra", you might want a fuller sound for the ending. Also, the varying parts, and differences between synth sections and orchestra sections has me feeling like this should have been 2 different songs, recorded and uploaded separatly.

I've been listening to this again quite a lot lately. I like the fact that the instrumentation sounds rather synthy, because it makes it sound different... it is not a smphony, but a synthony.
