Sometimes people inexplicably choose you as a "sympathetic ear." They barely know you, but reveal way too much personal information.

Maybe you start listening because they're good looking, or you're trying to be polite. But, they hook you and it becomes a daily Soap Opera.

You start looking forward to the visits. Then you seek them out if they haven't been around in awhile and prod them.

"So...anything new?" smiley

I worked for a while at a boarding school, co ed. A female supervisor talked about the girls behaviour when year 9 had there 'sex talk.' She talked about the wat the girls were nonchallant, but their fingers would get really animated .. your song reminded me .. smiley

dd, That's funny, but a bit "racey" for the first comment on this song (case in point)! Heh, heh. Sets an odd precedent at the top of the column. Perhaps sentiment best conveyed in less a conspicuous forum... smiley

In the song I meant...it's very tough for me to turn someone away when they are "coming in out of the rain," or baring personal details freely. It kind of stuns you, like watching a train wreck.

But, you're right. You never know what you're going to hear.

This one definitely reminds me of something the Police would have done. I never really understood what they were talking about (over my head) but it was always fun to listen to!

You've got a good ear, Vap. The harmonies, especially at the end are influenced heavily by The Police. And of course, Stewart Copeland played drums on this track so... (kidding).

You did rate it before, jkane. The song was removed and reposted. The fact you took time to rate and comment twice, shows you're a gentleman of the highest caliber. I think it had about 150 plays last time...(great, now someone will write another song about obsessing over play-counts...and I'll delete it again) smiley

Harmonically DEFINITELY the Police!!! But I hear your personality stepping out in here and it's awesome. You have a great voice and you are a very good songwriter!!!!

However, on the critical side, this is one song where the lo-fi thing isn't helping it. If it were clearer it would be absolutely fantastic, instead of unbelievably good! smiley

Very good. I like the vocals and harmonies.
It makes me want to try to put some vocals on some of my comps.

Has a bit of talking heads in it...enjoyed it very much. I enjoy hearing different approaches as I tend to fall into the same chords and style which is often hard to break out of. Also, don't we all wish we could have just 1 track with copland playing on it! I should be uploading some "Police" tunes soon.
