A tune based on old recordings done at the family homestead on a lake in the mountains of NorthEastern Pennsylvania. It is an ancient natural spring lake that has a long history back to Native Americans. Spring peepers in full chorus.
This is a remixed version based on suggestions recieved.
Hope you enjoy.

sorry Elder but this reminds sooo much of Harold Faltermayer and co. - yes I am one of the worst critics when it comes to sounds (like I expect u to be) - bit oldish - in fact the track (melodies/harmonise/effects) are really nice but i would try to work on the sounds (bass/melo especially)
(u know - as always just opinion)
OA
P.S> in the end it depends on where u want to go with this song - surely good for a documentary or sth like that ...

I love it, Elder but I have always been a bit of a fan of that whole 'Weather Report' sounding vibe.
Only thing I would do would be to add Robert Fripp in the mix with some guitar!
Give him a call!

oh dude...
as much as i respect Orange, this thing has vibe for days. I love the vintage synth thang you got cookin' here. it's used very well, and when all is said and done, the music is very strong.
more than Harold F., this kind of reminds me of Jean Luc Ponty's "Gift of Time" era recordings, which is a compliment in the highest regard.
the production is really nice; very transparent.
i diggity, yo.
thanks for sharing.

Wow, interesting reactions!
Thanks for the comments guys, showed you really listened.
Strong both ways, I must have struck something here.
Actually I am not satisfied with it. It ended up in completely different direction than intended. I like the beginning chorus part not sure about those "nice" jazzy/fusion chords.
Like two different songs. I can't resolve them.
Some of my early musical influence was Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orch, Corea, Miles, Ponty, etc etc. What was considered cutting edge in the seventies. Not to mention Yes, Genesis(Gabriel), Floyd, etc.
And that comes through unconciously. I CAN"T STOP IT! HELP it's taking over!!
Ahem, sorry. maybe I shouldn't fight it.
Orange, I respect your opinion, want to try cutting it up and expanding?

Some of the above references went over my head but I heard many things that I liked in this track. I preferred the latter half (was that the 2 songs in one point?). By the way, I was at your site and I love the diversity of your creations. Plus, thanks for all the comments on my endeavors.

allright... i've certainly had enough time to listen to this, yet i still find it hard to put it's impact to words. i've played it over numerous times during my normal activities as well as alone and focused upon it's meandering curves. one thing i know is i wouldn't have changed a thing... it feels as pure emotion streaming through my speakers, a guiding voice that calls from the unknown... soothing yet mysterious in it's agenda.

i for one choose to follow, and if i never return... so be it.

note- this song soothed the "blue meanies" out of someone who's mind took a turn for the worse one altered night... and even aided in the fight against nausea!

i pass on their thanks and gratitude.

(oh, and this should have been favorited last time i visited, don't know why it didn't catch. fixed now though. smiley

Thanks all.
I did intend this to be a kind of wandering piece.
As I wandered around the lake, just trying to experience the environment and the different flavors of it.
Glad to hear its peace was calming on some upset minds.
Something Leary and Lily used to say about taking a "trip"
Set and setting are important to the direction you will soar!

This popped up in the "random songs" section, and it was FUN! Yes, wandering, just like a walk in the woods--through the trees, past the pond, across the meadow. Enjoyed the birds and frogs.
