The title track to my album Enrobed.
An encapsulation of my strange, twisted spirit.
A very long piece, very long in the making.
BTW, that odd horn sound is a Diaphone, an old style fire or emergency alarm horn. I heard it at my grandparents home in childhood and it gave me chills. Its also the type of horn that makes the classic foghorn sound.
Please take the time to listen all the way through.
OK, y'all owe it to me to be ruthless in your reviews!
Have at it!

Well, I saw this posting and read the description and grabbed the 'phones straight away. I have little knowledge of how people sample in voices from other sources but I enjoyed the ones that you selected. What I assume is your voice, sounds great. The quality of your voice has a certain quality to it that is easy to hear. I especially enjoyed the piano and that blurting pipe noise (ha! sorry, I know it's an instrument, just don't know the name). Most of us can hope to attain your level of production. That pulsing beat was a great touch. I gave it three listens before typing this. Great work and very inspiring.

A most complex tune, and for me, not instantly enjoyable on the first exposure, but subsequent listens continue (!!) to reveal layers upon layers of really fantastic music. I'm trying to imagine the mood, or activity, that would work best for this track, and I can't think of it, other than to say it definitely requires your full attention. And that's not such a bad thing. Production on this tune was absolutely stellar, and to see that it was done in GB is beyond impressive. Many could learn a lot on production by listening to even just a little bit of this song. Color me impressed! I'm downloading it to mull it over some more. Thanks for sharing it.

Love this collaged piece of art..the voice is extremely interesting..sometimes the guitar sounds a little too hard in my ears and could have a smoother color..anyway it is perfect.

Cheers, RG

A collage constructed of what seems to be critically important bits and pieces for the musician. It's dark, foreboding, not necessarily easy and artistically visioned.

I enjoy the strength the song projects, it has an awful lot of presence.

Thank you all for your kind comments.
It is a very personal piece. But a puzzle.
Definately NOT easy listening!
I think Etgilles got it closest.
It is the subtle theme of my album.

Here is the key:
It SEEMS as if it should mean something.

It has such potent power and puzzling intricacies.
It has real life in it, questions unanswered.
But it is veiled, enrobed.
Muddied by human experience, the world, which is not us, intrudes upon our own singular experience. We are truly alone in it, yet we are all in it together, and a part of it.
A truly tangled knot. I am obsessed with untangling it.
This is the puzzle of life, the universe and everything.
It ought to mean something...
shouldn't it?

Hey, this is cool music! Unlike some of the other posters, I had no trouble getting "into" the music.

Like the dark atmosphere. Well done!

In the late 80s I spent a ton of time listening to people like David Torn, Mick Karn, David Sylvian, Mark Isham, etc. Your piece took me back to those times. Many thanks.
